I guess I spoke too soon, it’s crashing again! Since the system was stable I plugged my Media drive back in and ran Disk Utility. Initially it gave an error that the disk should be replaced, but when I ran it again it said it was ok. So then I opened up photos and tried to continue my iCloud...
