Thank you very much for the advice and the links. Indeed I was trying to solve several things at the same time and I should focus on one thing at a time. The audio is not a priority for me since I have an external sound card, my main issue was the video playback and I didn't find detailed...
Hello @Jamesbond007 and @mutatio , thank you very much for the infos ! I managed to get Sierra working with some simple tricks. I explained my process in this new thread I created. I managed to get nearly everything working except the audio and video playback. I'm checking the fixes for the...
Hello Bob. Thanks for the links, I've gone through them and I will try some of the fixes. I'll update the post if anything new. Do you have any insight for video playback problems ? Thanks !
Hi everyone !
I just installed my first hackintosh and I should say some aspects went pretty well. First, here's my build :
- Mobo : Gigabyte GA-H270M-D3H
- CPU : Intel Core Kabylake i7-7700K Processeur 4,20 GHz
- Graphics Card : MSI GTX 1080 Ti GAMING X 11G
- RAM : Ballistix Sport LT 64Go...
I just got my PSU and connected everything back. My first issue is that indeed the Sierra install doesn't detect my Samsung 960 PRO SSD M.2. @gruponarede , you tried with a High Sierra install and still not detecting your M.2 ?
Seems like this link solves the thing, but I don't have enough...
Thanks for the extended informations @mutatio ! Unfortunately I'm not advanced enough to understand all of it :D
- HFS is the current Mac disk format right ? And in HS it converts to APFS which is for SSDs ?
- If I install Sierra and update to HS, does it need to format the hard drives ?
- My...
Oh that was fast ! Since I haven't installed yet Sierra, do you think I could try to install HS without too much hassle with the new UniBeast version ? If everything goes well, I should resume the install tomorrow.
I tried downloading the HS install file but it's only 19.9Mb, what should I do...
Does it detect it in the BIOS or the Sierra boot ? I still didn't try to install since the PSU fried, but I think the Nnme was detected in the bios, not sure though. I'll tell you as soon as I receive the new PSU and relaunch the install.
Thank you very much for all the insights @mutatio ! I upgraded the BIOS to F6 without problems and was setting it up for Sierra install when the PSU fried. I brought my computer to a repair shop and it seems it's a defective PSU, it happened to some people around me when I asked yesterday and...
Holy c***p ! I built my computer just fine and it was running smoothly, I started the BIOS update and the PSU tossed white smoke !! Did it already happen to some of you ??
Thank you @mutatio and @Jamesbond007 !!
1 - Great ! I'm downloading the Sierra installer as I write.
2 - Ok it will be easier if I stick to Sierra since I'm a beginner and that High Sierra has yet to mature.
3 - I've looked on TonyMac for builds with my Mobo (GA-H270M-D3G) but can't find much...
Hello everyone. When I downloaded the High Sierra installation file, it's only 20Mb ! It downloads the full package within the installation process. Did you have the same issue ? Where do I find the full install file ? Thanks.
