Hi All, sorry to revive an older post, but I had to re-install Yosemite and didn't see this option with the new Multibeast as we are now at 10.10.x.
What can I do to solve the "stuck at grey apple logo screen with progress bar" that never starts error?

I initially had the missing mach_kernel error and had to use the boot flag:
/System/Library/Kernels/kernel
or add:
<key>Kernel</key>
<string>/System/Library/Kernels/kernel</string>
to...
I have the same issue with a Gigabyte Z68xp-ud3, I did what another user suggested and fire up iTunes and play a song.
Then, go to System preferences -> sound and you should see an option to choose internal speakers or Line Out or what have you.

Anyone getting this after they install from USB drive and then restart from their HDD install drive?
I should mention I am on Chimera 2.2.1 - do I have to install mavericks again and then upgrade chimera to 4.0?!

yes, when i click HDD, i get the mac logo and progress bar that never starts or finishes.
when i click Yosemite install, I get that. So how would i launch the chimera update from the osx install / terminal?
also would u know the path to the system files "extra" folder?
all i saw was etc tmp...
when I boot using USB it goes to the OSX install, not really finder - how would I then run the chimera install?
(Sorry if these are noob questions - i'm not a pro with terminal, but I can do basic navigation)

I have the standalone installer on a USB drive but I am not sure how to run it.
Is it possible to do from the terminal or in the OSX Install screen?

After step #2, I get the mac logo with a progress bar that never goes beyond 0% - what did I do wrong?
I can't boot into yosemite and when i use F12 to boot from my HDD, i get the missing mach_kernel thingy.

I have done an install of Yosemite, but it wont boot because of the "can't find /mach_kernel" issue and I read I should be using the latest version of Chimera also...

Hi, I am stuck in a Yosemite install and I'd like to update Chimera, but not sure how you mean to do this...Can it be done from the OSX Install menu using terminal commands? How are you suggesting to do it from the UniBeast drive.
