my only option is 1280x800, no options. And I cant do a screen cap for some reason. swapped inputs on the card still no go. the monitor is only displaying 1280x1024 (the cards largest VESA resolution) of is 1920x1280 (there's a black box around everything) and stretches whatever resolution is...
So, I've finally whittled down my issues with my update to 10.6.6, But I am now having a hard time figuring out how to get QE/CI working on my 9800GT. From what I understand, nvEnabler.kext is not needed with RC5 and "GaphicsEnabler=Yes" in com.apple.boot.plist. I really want to get this figured...
so, that did the trick as far as booting. Now I just need the resolution back to normal. I ran the NVIDIA update to see if that would fix things, but it didn't. Any ideas?
that makes sense, but I'm still having a couple of issues. I got rid of the Nvenabler, but it's still trying to load on boot. I can get past this by booting in safe mode or ignoring the boot caches. Also, when I finally get into the OS I'm locked into a 1024x768 resolution. Once I was in the OS...
So, I've been having problems upgrading/clean installing 10.6.6. 10.6.4 is last known good OS. from 10.6.4 I'll update using combo update then mutlibeast to update the kexts. the install goes great then I reboot and it just hangs at the spinny thing. It doesn't matter if i'm updating my primary...
Hey everyone, it's been a while since i was on here but I have a big favor to ask. I can't boot into my system (i5 + UD2). The boot hangs and I get a
sound assertion "!hasInitialSettings" failed in "/SourceCache/AppleHDA/AppleHDA-199.4.12/AppleHDA/AppleHDAEngine.cpp" at line 14304 goto Exit...
I use Rosewill's 47-in-1 card reader (I think thats what it's called). it's a 3.5" internal reader and plugs right into the USB header on the mobo.

go for the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 and some arctic silver 5 thermal paste. it's a great cooler and will clear your ram. I have on on my i5 and i get idle temps at 42 and never top 70 in prime95 with the cpu clocked at 3.3GHz.

They have a black version of the case, but I can't find it at Newegg.
I have an XFX 9800 GT 512MB. I do most of the same work as you. A lot of work in photoshop, and the rest of CS4. Before this I had a Macbook w/ a 2.4 C2D and 2 GB of RAM. This machine is great with PS and stitching massive panoramas (20-30 images). and is much snappier. If the room is in the...
I have that exact card and it works great for what I use it for, and it can handle games fairly well on my 23" monitor at full res. It's a good choice, I haven't had any problems this far.
