SAMSUNG NP350V5C-905IT + Mavericks, getting lost in MaciASL

Finally, a small victory, in legacy mode I was able to boot the installer and do the F2 F4 sequence.

SAMSUNG NP350V5C-905IT + Mavericks, getting lost in MaciASL

Ok, just one last question (for today :) ) overally speaking if I try in legacy mode, what differs from UEFI mode, except for maybe faster boot?

This is the clover content, 2 partitions version

SAMSUNG NP350V5C-905IT + Mavericks, getting lost in MaciASL

Well... seems this Samsung hates clover a lot. With the two partitions I can't even reach the clover boot screen :) There is a black box in the middle of the screen (the same where clover says something like "gathering informations" but without the writing) and nothing else. Tomorrow I'll try...

SAMSUNG NP350V5C-905IT + Mavericks, getting lost in MaciASL

Yes, thanks, I know where Clover F4/F2 content should go, executing that script and giving as a parameter /dev/whateverisyourusb mounts the hidden EFI partition of the USB drive. In fact I created the usb, booted on the wannabe_a_mac pc, F2/F4, screenshot, unplugged USB from pc, plugged on my...

SAMSUNG NP350V5C-905IT + Mavericks, getting lost in MaciASL

Well, I know how to mount it with the script mount_efi.sh (I sent the zip from that). But MBR partition could be a better way for booting, maybe the notebook supports partially UEFI, it was from 2012, with Win7 shipped on board.

SAMSUNG NP350V5C-905IT + Mavericks, getting lost in MaciASL

I am expecting to see the USB led blinking while writing the files. Sorry but I followed that guide word by word.

SAMSUNG NP350V5C-905IT + Mavericks, getting lost in MaciASL

Yes but as mentioned in the FAQ, I checked pressing plain F1 and FN+F1 to check if fn is needed and just F1 is working. But, both being in the gray bootscreen with all the clover icons, and after selecting Verbose mode and starting the boot, F2 and F4 or F10 does absolutely nothing. May I...

SAMSUNG NP350V5C-905IT + Mavericks, getting lost in MaciASL

Sorry but, as I wrote, I pressed F2 and F4, without effect / no blinks on USB drive. And I tested if a FN is needed, but F1 is working. I downloaded OSX directly from Apple store, I bought all the versions of the OS since 10.8. I created the installer on a Mac Mini (early 2009) with 10.11.6. The...

SAMSUNG NP350V5C-905IT + Mavericks, getting lost in MaciASL

... aaaaand here it is! I followed the F2 F4 sequence too or F10 but seems ineffective, while pressing F1 help is presented.

SAMSUNG NP350V5C-905IT + Mavericks, getting lost in MaciASL

Ok, so I followed the procedure, I created two usb keys one with Yosemite and one with Mavericks. Both drives me at a blank screen after clover boot screen. I'll look for a debug mode / text boot mode in the documentation to find where it hangs, meanwhile my questions are: Should I really...

That's absolutely true. So thank you for linking to the "last part of the story" ;) Now things are getting interesting!

SAMSUNG NP350V5C-905IT + Mavericks, getting lost in MaciASL

ok.. sorry but IMHO seems a bit confusing, even because the instruction guide for mavericks brings to Chimera as a bootloader, not Clover. Could I just create a usb bootdisk with Clover just to get the DSDT files? Anyway, I'll keet reading and trying. Thanks.

SAMSUNG NP350V5C-905IT + Mavericks, getting lost in MaciASL

Ok but, in the end, shouldn't I load my custom DSDT in Multibeast, once I am able to patch/create it, to install the right kexts with the build command?
