Recommended build Mavericks Install Crash: i5-4440 GA-H87N-WIFI

I also had to disable Wake On Lan to prevent the system to reboot after shutdown. This should really be in the guide...

Ok, DVI to DVI did the trick and the install is going on. Hopefully I will be back to report success later on :-)

Recommended build Mavericks Install Crash: i5-4440 GA-H87N-WIFI

Just looking at this thread http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks-desktop-support/115427-help-haswell-unibeast-mavericks-error.html Could it be that the issue is that I am connecting to a monitor using a DVI (PC) to VGA (Monitor) cable? Will DVI to DVI fix the problem?

Recommended build Mavericks Install Crash: i5-4440 GA-H87N-WIFI

Ok, using npci=0x3000 or -v npci-0x3000 just seems to hang instead of crash. Not sure thats better... I have also tried adding the PCIRootUID=1 and GraphicsEnabler=No. Not sure what to do next, looking through the messages I see a couple of backtrace and then it hangs with "media is not...

Recommended build Mavericks Install Crash: i5-4440 GA-H87N-WIFI

The screen I am using is 1680X1050 so I tried that, but it still goes funky as in the picture I attached previously and stops. I set the BIOS as per Tony's post http://www.tonymacx86.com/golden-builds/109953-customac-mini-2013-ga-h87n-wifi-core-i3-4340-intel-hd-4600-a.html Any ideas what...

2nd build advice - small and quiet i5 build

Thanks for the advice Iw ill check that cooler but I think since it is included I'll try the stock cooler first then change it if it is noisy. There's a video of it on youtube that seems to show that its virtually silent unless you are hammering the CPU. I suspect with my wife usage pattern it...

2nd build advice - small and quiet i5 build

Thanks Adrian, I thought about using the standard cooler to keep budget low, but yes maybe I should consider other options. How much noise difference do you think a low profile cooler would do over standard cooler?

2nd build advice - small and quiet i5 build

Hi Guys, I am about to buy the components for my seconds build, the idea is to get a quiet/almost silent small PC for SO. Small form factor, low power and low noise are key objectives. I picked from the recommended builds so it should be pretty straight forward but would be great if you...

    Random reboots GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3

Update: I sent all the components to the shop (scan.co.uk) and they claim to have tested it and found no fault. I actually don't think they have tested properly. In any case, I am now paying about £70 costs to get everything back and test myself. :banghead: Anyways, one thing they...

    Random reboots GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3

Thanks Karacho I will try that and report back. I also got in touch with the shop to see what they can do, they also suspect the PSU so I might have to RMA that and wait until it comes back.

    Random reboots GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3

Thanks Karacho, I actually now think this is a HW problem wince I have the same problem when running on Windows 7. OSX also works fine without any errors or kernel panics until the computer shuts so it looks to hardware. I think it's the PSU but I am trying to rule out everything else ...
