Does the Intel NUC only has a HDMI port or can it use its Thunderbolt port as an DisplayPort? I am not sure the HDMI support the 2560x1440 resolution. I use the Thunderbolt of my Z77X-UPTH motherboard and a Thunderbolt-to-DisplayPort cable to connect to my ASUS PB278Q. I get full 2560x1440...
With Mountain Lion I had a dual monitor setup working just fine. This was with a VGA screen working (using the Z77X-UP5TH vga port) together with my ASUS PB278Q monitor (using DisplayPort @2560x1440) through the Thunderbolt port. For some weird reason, this setup only worked when I had my DVI...
I don't think the problem is the last line - it does say "succeeded", right :-). Look at the backtrace... It is something with a kext (Kernel Extension) IOACPIFamily inside the FakeSMC.kext
Did you setup your BIOS correctly? There are some ACPI settings that can be enabled/disabled. Might be...
Same problem with my Belkin F8TO12. Worked fine in 10.8.4.

I just do not know how to find the configuration for the BELKIN device...

Thanks...

I'm using this adapter from Apple: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB570Z/B/mini-displayport-to-dvi-adapter?fnode=53
As far as I know, there is no Thunderbolt-to-DisplayPort adapter. If there is, could you provide a link?
Is it possible these components working together?
