Hi UtterDisbelief, Feartech,
I'm really sorry to come crawling back again but although I had thought my problems were solved by removing XHCI-unsupported.kext as you suggested, they appear to have come back again. In reality, I think it must be a temperatmental issue.
I have since tried...
Actually, it now seems to be working as expected. No audio drop outs during unplugging / plugging in USB devices. I'll update if this changes but I think you've done it.
Thank you so much again - you've saved me a lot of frustration.
Just had a chance to try it. Ultimately I think the only change relevant to the current problem thst you suggested was the removal of XHCI-unsupported. Although this didn’t fix the issue, my boot times just got a lot quicker!
Let me know if you have any brain-waves over night!
Should I be doing something with the SSDT-UIAC.aml produced by Hackintool? This is referenced in the RehabMan power guide but I've not seen anything saying that it should be added to my 'patched' folder in the Hackintool custom SSDT guide?
Just did the whole port testing process for a second time and think I have the same result. I took this screenshot showing the ports that I deleted and the green ones match up with the numbers I noted down during the process. I have shown the USB 2.0/3.0 pairs that I noted down...
Hi both -
I'm really grateful for your help - very kind of you.
I have attached what I hope is my IORegistryExplorer export, my CLOVER folder, and a screenshot of the USB page of Hackintool.
I'll take a look through the RehabMan guide and see if I can achieve anything myself. If you have...
I did go through and change that for a couple of USB 2.0 ports. I also added the generated SSDT-EC-USBX.aml file to my EFI partition as suggested by the Hackintool guide. Unfortunately, there is no change.
I also confirmed that there is no USB weirdness going on in Windows.
I've just reinstalled Catalina from scratch and am still facing these issues. Please could you confirm if it is excactly these sorts of issues that SSDTs should fix? If so, I've probably made a mistake.
Appreciate the quick response! I'm afraid creating a custom USB SSDT doesn't seem to change anything. I did check that Hackintool shows fewer than 15 ports following the install of the new kext.
Any other ideas?
I've had a working Hackintosh install for a while but recently decided to upgrade to an Intel i5 8600k and MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Plus. At the same time, I moved from Nvidia to an AMD Vega 56 in order to upgrade from High Sierra to Catalina.
The upgrade all went very smoothly and I took the...
In case it helps anyone googling this issue in the future, resizing the partitions using EaseUS Partition Master caused the two HFS partitions on that drive to lose their character as HFS on the GPT file. In order to fix this, gdisk was installed on the working windows partition and the command...
I’m really hoping someone can help me out with a problem that I haven’t been able to solve for a few days as it’s driving me mad!
Until a few days ago I had a fully working build with an SSD and HDD and Windows / OS X installed in dual boot on the SSD. This setup has been working for...
