Did you find a fix for this? I got a 6800 XT Red Dragon today and I have the same issue. I also noticed like you that if I use Ctrl to zoom the desktop the pointer goes back to regular size.
Yeah I saw that, completely insane. Could probably get an upcoming 'M2' MBP for that. It seems like when there is stock, only one store has any and so it becomes temporarily a monopoly seller and can more or less charge what it wants.
I think it depends on what they have decided to do with their Pro products. At the moment all of the new M1 machines use the GPU on die. Either they are designing a higher powered version of that for the higher end MBP etc or they will opt for an AMD dGPU. My hunch tells me they would prefer to...
Thanks for this. Still seems too pricey for me at least until macOS support is confirmed. At the moment supply issues and prices mean I'd rather wait anyway. In the meantime, if it turns out that Apple changes its mind and focuses on its own GPUs then it gives me the option to get a 3070 instead.
You are an absolute legend! I recently upgraded my mobo / CPU from an MSI Z77 + 3570K to a ASUS ROG Strix-F Z390 + 9700K. I have a 980Ti but it was becoming a pain in the ass to get the web drivers working after switching motherboards, so I upgraded to Mojave and was trying to get dual displays...
Since there is no mention of this in the post, am I right to assume that any hack running on Mac Pro 3,1 should function identically using iMac 14,2? It took me a while to get Clover running properly on my Z77 board so I don't want to risk breaking anything (I don't care about iMessage, just the...
Thank you guys so much!
I just followed your procedure and am now running Clover + El Capitan, also without loss of data since I just overwrote my Yosemite install. It was definitely a BIOS issue - I tried first installing the kexts whilst staying on the patched 1.40 BIOS and it failed, but...
I suppose you might have figured this out already, but I had the same problem for a while (same monitor). From another thread on these forums, I found out that disabling display port 1.2 from the monitor seems to solve the problem for me.
Thanks, although the problem is I can't get Clover to boot into the installer in the first place. I asked questions about it a few months ago but nothing seemed to work, and I've given up for the interim because I'm busy finishing my thesis and I don't want to screw up my install. The USB 3 is...
The gaming benchmarks I've seen for the GTX 1070 that have now surfaced show that the 980ti is around the same performance. The 1080 is consistently better. However, you are right about the overclocking - Maxwell seems to provide better OC opportunity so an overclocked 980ti is between an...
No problem at all, but I'm still using Chimera which I know I'm going to have to change in future if I want to move on from Yosemite. I used the patched 1.40 BIOS and installed the ALC 892 kext for audio from Multibeast. Everything works fine apart from USB 3.
I'd like to know, too. I spent quite a while trying on patched 1.40 BIOS, but couldn't get Clover to work. I'm going to attempt to try with the newest BIOS and patch it if possible, but I'm in an important work phase so it'll be a few months before I want to risk breaking my stable Yosemite machine.
I've been waiting for the Pascal cards to upgrade my 660Ti, so I'm also interested in knowing this. I'm also still running Yosemite though, so my additional query would be whether the Pascal cards would work without El Cap (since I've had trouble getting Clover to run).
