there are so many variables that it can be rather frustrating to trouble shoot. good to hear you've solved it. make notes of the steps you had to make for future reference. glad I could help!

try to follow the original post to the letter. pay extra attention to the BIOS settings. F4 version is needed for this install. make a new USB drive and re-download OS X installer. with the latest Clover version you don't need to make the extra 10.10 folders. are you using only 2 RAM slots for...

I had this annoying message too. It was the Trim enabler in my case which turns off driver signing. See (http://www.cindori.org/trim-enabler-and-yosemite/) for details.
