    Stuck in Safe Mode

So I managed to figure out what was wrong. The BIOS still had the VT-d flag enabled, turning that off made everything work flawlessly. Network, sound, graphics, sleep (pretty sure) are all working fine. I read in another thread here that you should be able to use that option if you had a K...

    Stuck in Safe Mode

https://db.tt/caWdBk0t Same issue, it hangs in pretty much the same place. Eventually it gets to this "triggered rebuild" line, but after that there's nothing. HD access pretty much drops to zero, so I have no idea what it's doing there. https://db.tt/ZyjOivF9 And this is the error I get...

    Stuck in Safe Mode

Removed the nvda_drv flag from boot args and trying again, but it seems to still freeze without safe mode.

    Stuck in Safe Mode

These are all correct. Currently the only distinction that I can make here is that it boots with safe mode and freezes without it.

    Stuck in Safe Mode

It was hanging at that screen for over 15 minutes and the HD access indicator wasn't on, so I just killed it. I'm still able to boot to the desktop using just the -v -x flags. I'll boot with the same set as before, plus -x -f

    Stuck in Safe Mode

Updated post with image (and echoed here) https://db.tt/lWlWPTfH This is with the extra boot flags you specified, still seems to hang at this point though

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium with OS X

I'm having some problems getting my sound card working with OS X version 10.8.2, specifically the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium XTreme Fatal1ty PCI-E. In my research, I've found that the VoodooHDA kext is required (latest version at the time of writing), however installing it causes the...

Question about using SATA with RocketRAID 2720SGL

Hello, I just recently ordered the Highpoint RocketRAID 2720SGL to go in my new Hackintosh build, but I'm struggling to wrap my head around SAS and how it plays with SATA. What I want ti inevitably do is hook up two SATA III SSDs to the card, but it only has two SAS ports. I keep seeing cables...

    Motherboard Hardware RAID

I figured as much. Maybe the drives (which I ordered separately) will arrive earlier than the rest of the setup. Otherwise, I can live with just doing everything as I need it.

    Motherboard Hardware RAID

Hm, a thought. The RAID card was shipped out first, before any of my other components. Would it be possible (or advisable) to put the RAID card into my current desktop temporarily for configuration only? I'd likely have to have the actual drives I want to use in the RAID array though, so I...

    Motherboard Hardware RAID

Yeah, a learning experience is what I really want out of the RAID setup, the extra speed is a very nice bonus though :)

    Motherboard Hardware RAID

Hey DBP. What I was thinking was partitioning the RAID array to provide the increased throughput for every OS installed on the drive, since I will only ever be booted into one at a time. I'd imagine there is quite a performance increase over simply a single SSD. My other motivation for...
