Sorry to be late to the party here! I can help you,Top3b :)
Pre-req: As others have mentioned, you first need to update your AppleALC.kext to the latest version (currently 1.4.2) using Clover. You're already at this step though so you're good.
1) Go through the steps to mount your EFI and then...
"the 3D functionality of FCP doesn't work [if the iGPU is dissabled]." Obviously FCP works, otherwise I'd have an issue too (and I'm not on this build). Have you tested the 3D functionality of FCP on this build; have you encountered any unusual errors within FCP knowing the iGPU has to be...
I have the iGPU dissabled on my current setup, and the 3D functionality of FCP doesn't work. I learned that you need iGPU to work in conjunction with a dedicated GPU-- like in most Mac desktops-- in order to regain full functionality. So no, I need both GPUs to be working in order to consider...
No worries! Thank you for putting together this brilliant guide though :-) If anybody else has dabbled in FCP, or knows if the iGPU works together with an AMD GPU without issues in FCP, let me know! I'm seriously considering this build, if it works well with FCP.
That's for the unsupported, SD Card reader. I spoke about that on Rehabman's thread :-) You can dissable it in the BIOS and it will dissapear. There's another icon up there though that I can't seem to make go away (not near the NUC at the moment to see which one it is though).
Yes, I've experienced what you're experiencing. I installed Voodoo, followed the admin guide for the crackling audio some people experience (NUCs), and now the audio is perfect. I'd highly recommend installing Voodoo.
It has been mentioned several times on this, and Rehabman's, thread: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/do-the-samsung-970-evo-plus-drives-work-spoiler-alert-no-they-dont.270757/page-2
No, sadly Airdrop and Continuity only work on Hackintosh computers that have both Bluetooth and Wifi enabled-- and the cards have to be compatible. The chipset for wifi + bluetooth on the NUC (Intel) is not compatible with what Apple uses (Broadcom). This has been an outstanding issue for a few...
Hah! It worked! :D For $15 I have 802.11ac Wifi connectivity on my NUC Hackintosh. Posting this right now from it; I'm getting fairly fast browsing speeds, considering how small this is (I have an 80Mbps internet connection):
So I spoke to the developers over at EDUP and they said that this particular WiFi dongle should work on 10.14.3, using their latest driver. I'm extremely hesitant to believe them, but for $15 it's worth the test. It will be delivered tomorrow so I'll update the forum afterwards if it works...
@RehabMan and the other developers have been unable to get it to work on the NUC8i. I'm not sure if it's on everybody's agenda atm, tbh... At least USB-C [somewhat] works! Attached is a picture of what should be showing, if Thunderbolt controller was detected and working (note, from my 2012...
It's very easy to get rid of that icon. You do it in the BIOS :)
Upon boot press and hold the "F2" key on your keyboard to enter BIOS
Navigate to Devices > Onboard Devices > SD Card = Disabled
Furthermore, go ahead and uncheck "Bluetooth" and "WLAN," as that will likely interfere with the...
