updated and reloaded appleHDA from multibeast. no issues at bootup.
downloaded - update http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
installed updated
restarted
ran multibeast - loaded appleHDA
restarted
back to business
specs in sig.

i too found this out last night after a long time playing with the bios. For some reason it doesnt like to be boot from and usb optical drive. i had to boot from a optical drive connected via sata.
when i try to load iboot it just tries to read the cdroom and reboots/cycles
i see cdboot: init then reboots computer. im trying to install from a usb dvd drive

I'm looking to replace a old mac mini I have with a MITx build with some help.
Can anyone recommend parts that would be fully compatible. I would like to keep the small foot print the mini has. The computer would be used mainly for Photoshop and lightroom and maybe editing some hd video
