Hey two quick questions:
1. Will this work with El Capitan?
2. Is it possible to reverse the PNLF patch without starting from a fresh DSDT dump?
Thank you!
So, after two days of really messing with things, I've managed to come up with a comprehensive set of steps that may allow anyone experiencing the "Self-Assigned IP Address" problem to overcome it.

Hey Rehabman, I believe I followed your guide pretty closely however I'm not getting any brightness control. Thought I'd grab a second opinion before I go ahead and patch the EDID. Any help would be appreciated.
Would your guide for patching XCPM in the kernel work for him in this case? It goes back to Yosemite, but if he doesn't mind downgrading...

Edit: Ran back through your guide, I see that Clover appends an 'x' to the end of...

I just lol'd pretty hard though, your attention to detail is unmatched by any haha I've never been owned like that before.
Gotcha. Just looked over your guide on how to use output method calls. Could you give me a hint as to where I should begin investigating? I assume BST, but if I'm being honest I'm not 100% sure what all of these variables/values represent.
Right, however that output is shown when the AC adapter is not plugged in and the battery is discharging. In other words, the output doesn't change regardless of the actual physical state. Whatever state the battery was in at boot is the status it remains at. So possibly my issue is elsewhere...
Awesome guide man, thanks a lot. I learned quite a bit about editing DSDT's and ACPI syntax from this.
Anyway, everything's working except I'm having the same issue as a lot of others in which the AC adapter status doesn't update. It remains at whatever it was during boot and doesn't change...
