I didnt try 8700k but it should work out of the box, because its device id is present inside KBL kext files. What we do with 8100 is to make it seem like 8700k.
It seems wrong device id is set. can you test if correct EFI drive (config.plist) is being used, I basically change the autostart timeout and see if it is correct at boot.
Ok in terminal go to folder
/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelKBLGraphicsFramebuffer.kext/Contents
and edit Info.plist and add these if they don't exist. Attached screen shot should assist you.
and do the same for
/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelKBLGraphics.kext/Contents/Info.plist
Hi hallowman, can you zip and share whole of your EFI folder. Rehabman's FakePCIID.kext is also needed from his original solution, did you put that also with the kext I shared.
What you should try next:
1. first disable the graphics card in bios or completely remove it.
2. backup your EFI folder and try mine, kexts might be different in version. (you may need to remove ALC kext if your sound is different)
kexts folder is similar with mine. but our plist files have differences. Can you try with my plist file for quick response. SMBIOS might be the reason.
