In that case the first time you attempted iMessage what was the serial number, if that was fake your apple ID may be locked. Please post screenshot of the error, does it give you a customer Code etc?

There is no customer code error.. I have 6 valid Apple devices including 2 MBPR and imessage working fine on all..

There is no error code.. just the message...

Have you tried the fix for App store that I mentioned earlier in post 266? That should be the first thing you try if you are getting errors with any of those Apple services.

First of all, thank you for helping me build an awesome machine, it kicks my 2008 MacBook's ass. Secondly, if I was to use the mini DisplayPort instead of the miniHDMI port would I be able to control the audio from OS X?

No, Apple does not provide volume controls for digital audio....

And for anyone having issues with Yosemite.....you are not alone! It may the price sometimes of being an 'early adopter'.
My own real MacBook Air has issues of occasionally ballistic fan noise, really laggy Safari, random wifi disconnects and huge CPU overhead - so the above linked thread has been helping me sort out some of those areas. I see the developer preview of 10.10.1 is out today, so I am hoping the final release of that will not be slow in coming and will sort some of these things out.
The message that some people are saying, for real Mac users, is that it is not a bad thing to stay on Mavericks for a little longer...

Note:I do not think the files left over from Chimera etc will cause any issues but it may be a good Idea after all is up and running to just delete them to tidy things up a bit.....

Hi!

Your support is amazing!! Thanks!! Up and running just the way you wrote down, easy...

Last question:

Can i just delete the 'extra', 'AppleHDA_Azul', 'Backup-Kext' and 'EFI-Backup' folders from my SSD? (Volumes/Mavericks)

Sure....they are not doing anything.

:)

Tried your method as said in http://www.tonymacx86.com/golden-bu...nuc-boxd54250wykh1-8gb-ram-27.html#post887056

But still not working.. Thing to note is that appstore is working fine for me.. Only thing I can state is that "perhaps" the very first time i installed the serial number was not there but I had generated it after couple of reboots after initial install ..

Some people have reported that they need to have a credit card registered with their Apple ID - when previously in Mavericks they might not have needed it. I do already have that as I use my ID a lot.

Also some people have also said that they have called the support telephone number for Apple and had it activated that way.

Google "Yosemite iMessage fix" and you'll see there are lots of possible answers and that this is not a specific NUC thing but more generalised. All I can say is that it is not a problem that I have so I cannot troubleshoot for you on this one.
