Those of you who have working 970 - do you have socket 1150/1155 builds with IGFX? I'm having a HECK of a time getting my EVGA 970 to complete booting - locks up every time on what IS/WAS running Yosemite system (using EVGA GT 740 or ASUS Radeon 6450).

I pull the working card (doesn't matter which one - I've tried with both). Then I boot with these flags:

This may be unrelated to the problem you are having, but based on the screenshot above it looks like you have renamed your OSX partition to "Yosemite" in org.chameleon.boot.plist. In the more recent versions of Chimera, when I've renamed my OSX partition my system ends up in a constant 'reboot-loop'. Try removing the rename key/string from org.chameleon.boot.plist and see if that helps with the issue you're having.

Actually I discovered from one of our excellent power users wildwillow - that my syntax in the Chameleon boot screen as seen in that screen shot was wrong. I didn't need the " = " sign in front of nv_disable=1.

Once I got that right, was able to boot right into Yosemite desktop (in safe mode), then download & install Web drivers.

SUCCESS!!! This thing is smokin' fast!! :)

Thanks again for taking a look at my problem - very much appreciated!

Cheers!

Are there any core image or quart extreme problems, cuda not recognized, preview not working well, lag using the desktop, anything or would you say your install is working flawlessly graphics wise?

@dangermouse76

So you get the full performance of the card (no problems) but you can't use the display port?

also, does the 0db fan mode work?

Sorry there is no quote, it would not let me for some reason.

I haven't had a chance to put it through any rigorous video tests, so can't answer that...yet... I'm still trying to get a few other things tweaked. But there are no lags, artifacts, or other obvious video performance issues just doing general web browsing or working with some basic apps.

But I can say that the HDMI port is driving my 50" VIZIO 4k at 24 or 30Hz (depending on which resolution setting I'm choosing). Unfortunately, the HDMI cable that I was using to test is a cheap one from Lowe's, so I'm sure it's not a high-speed cable with Ethernet. Once I get a new cable, I'll be able to confirm 4K@60 Hz. Fingers crossed!

BoomR, please could you run a luxmark test on your gtx 980, would be very helpful to see the result thanks.

Ok - I had to Google that benchmarking test. I'm no expert by any means when it comes to GPUs (well, ANY of this stuff, for that matter). Wasn't sure which of the "scenes" you wanted me to run in the test, so I just picked 3. I'm sure you know more about the specs for each of the scenes - so here are the results:

Again, my specs:
ASUS X99-Deluxe
Haswell-E i7 5930K (3.5 Ghz)
16GB G.Skill DDR4-2666/PC4-21300
Samsung 850 Pro SSD - 250GB
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SC (ACX 2.0) - 4GB
Yosemite 10.10

Your thoughts?

Hello,

I saw that someone was looking for some GTX 980 LuxMark results so here are mine.

My config is the following one:

i7 4790k
GTX 980 Gigabyte G1 Gaming
16 Go 2400 MHz

Ok, so it seems you guys got the 970 and 980 working, at least with 10.10. How about CUDA support? Anyone got that working too?
