What case are you using? I have an H110, but it does not really fit in my case =/

None. Test bench for now before I decide for H440, R4, XLR2 or 900D... :p

I don't really want to spend a ton on the cooler. Neweg has the Cooler Master Seidon 120V for ~$50 and it's about ~$30 A//R. Anyone think that would be a better choice over the Cooler Master 212 Plus I was considering,......?

Probabaly not.

I am going to buy a used noctua air cooler myself just because I like the massive heatsink.

FWIW worth I absolutely love my Define R3... So much that I will be getting a Define XL R2 for my next build. Nothing does the "monolith" look better an with the right fans and a fan controller the thing is absolutely silent.

Yeah, I've been thinking about buying a new Noctua NH-D14 but I have some concerns about the size of such a cooler. I question if the DIMM slots on the left side would be reasonably or easily accessible with such a monster.

I'm curious if anyone tried the ASUS ThunderboltEX II let alone the ThunderboltEX II Dual.

BTW, the ASUS X99-A went on sale and is now avalible on Amazon and Newegg for ~$274.99. I thought it was going to be ~$250 but no such luck.
I have it and got it working. The dual ThunderboltEX II is available on Amazon through a trusted retailer (I got mine like 5 days after I ordered). They go fast fast though, I was lucky to get one. They're only $10 more than the single port too. Security must be turned off in BIOS (legacy in UEFI BIOS>ADVANCED>THUNDERBOLT) for it to work BUT...

There's a problem under SMBios6,1. I can't get passed PCI Config in -v if I have a TB Device plugged in. With the actual PCI card installed 6,1 boots fine but no PCI Thunderbolt device is found in the IOReg tree. The only solution I could come up with is just using 5,1 and after deleting AppleThunderboltNHI.kext (solution was found here under TB testing thread). If you don't remove AppleThunderboltNHI it boots super slow and is kinda buggy (my keyboard wouldn't be found for 1-2 minutes after boot for instance). But under 5,1 everything works great, minus the advantages to 6,1 services. I have a friend who knows a TON more than me working on the 6,1 issue and hopefully he can resolve it. So long story short: yes, it works!

Now I have a 4.5Ghz (78°C under torture) EIGHT Core, 32Gb 2666(evil) DDR4, 2x Titan Black AND THUNDERBOLT 2 Equipped Hack. It's a good time for Hackintosh (minus X99 power management - which WILL come soon).

what is your watercooling?
thks

I second that, I'd like to know what cooling solution you are using.

Honestly, I think that the Noctua NH-D14 is the best bet for me but I have seen different versions of it and some such versions have clearance issues with respect to some motherboards first PCIe slot.

I've got all my parts in but I'm still hung-up on the cooler. I've found a review of the Cooler Master Seidon 120V but according to the review it was noisier (due to the pump) then the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO but not really any better at cooling then the 212 EVO:

Since I don't want to delay things maybe I should just go with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO for now and upgrade the cooling solution later.

I recycled a ton of stuff from my X79 machine. I'm using the Corsair h100i. I upgraded to SP120 Performance fans tho. The NZXT is an excellent choice however. Any dual fan radiator solution that is well-reviewed will work.

I've done a few searches for the ThunderboltEX II Dual card (2 TB ports), and I'll be D*&%ed if I can find anyone with them. Would you mind sharing the vendor you used via Amazon? TIA!!
