Mavericks: Native CPU/IGPU Power Management

Hey! When I delete NullPowerManagment my system is working on native PM for 30 sec and reseting. What should I do?

So my problem are resets, not forcing PM to work. I was checking in IOReg and when Null is deleted everything is ok. Any advises?


 
XCPM mode is now working, thanks to Pike.

I needed to add the kernel flag -xcpm in org.chameleon.Boot.plist and to add -x 1 when running ssdtPRGen.sh to create ssdt.aml.

I found out recently that the command ./ssdtPRGen.sh -h will produce a list of switches which may be added when creating an ssdt.aml, which have changed recently.
For example, ./ssdtPRGen.sh -turbo 4300 -t 72 -w 3 -x 1 is what I used, adding non-default settings.
-w for Ivy bridge workaround (0, 1, 2, or 3)
-x for xcpm mode (0 or 1), etc.

Thanks for this thread. Power management is much simpler now than it used to be before Mavericks.

Out of curiosity, why are you trying to force XCPM on your ivy system? i was under the impression XCPM was for Haswell and IBE, and previous systems were meant to work with AICPUPM.

Genzai: In my thinking XCPM is the latest and native way to implement CPU and GPU power management, and is available in Ivy Bridge, so why not use it. I'd never heard of it before this thread. Pike and toleda are the experts to ask about the benefits and I followed Pike's built-in switch in ssdtPRGen.sh to enable XCPM mode. I am finding speed stepping to be smoothly controlled and temps seem to be slightly lower.
If you create your ssdt.aml using the latest ssdtPRGen.sh v13.4 then with your i7 processor i expect you will have XCPM mode unless you specify otherwise.
Geekbench speed is slightly higher too.
 
Hey! When I delete NullPowerManagment my system is working on native PM for 30 sec and reseting. What should I do?
NullCPUPowerManagement disables PM and is off topic for this thread.
Restart after 30 seconds is not a PM problem; PM loads long before the desktop appears.
Suggest you figure out what is really causing the reboot, i.e., Console/Crash Reporter.

This is on Mavericks 10.9.2 Mobo Z87MX-D3H bios F5, i7-4770K, Graphics card using GTS 250 (HD4600 is enabled also)

Attached in the zip file are screenshot,chamaleon.boot, smbios,SSDT.AML, ioreg copy and terminal output.

Bios is at defaults settings Not overclocked.

Hope someone can give me a clue on how to get proper power management.

What do you mean "never reaches P-state 8"?? Your AICPUPMI output clearly shows it reaching 8.

Well, because on Intel power gadget the graph is never bellow 1.0 this is when I use ssdt. If I just delete ssdt, and on chameleon wizzard uncheck drop ssdt of course then XCPM do not load, but the graph is happy on the low side.

It is likely you have your system so busy producing graphs, that it will spend quite a bit of time with a non-idle multiplier. If AICPUPMI is showing that you're reaching 8, then you're reaching 8.

CPU p-states are one of those things difficult to observe without effect.
