Gigabyte 8-Series Motherboard UEFI Updates - 2014/01/24

The changelog on Gigabyte's site for Z87X-UD5H only says
1. Support New 4[SUP]th[/SUP] Generation Intel Core Processors

Does this mean Core i7 4770k wasn't supported properly? I know that I can't overclock to 4.7GHz without Windows blue screening right when I log in. I have Corsair H100i Liquid cooling so heat shouldn't be an issue.. Or is 4770k already properly supported but this update is for even newer 4th Generation processors?
The 4770K was already supported, the update added support for Celeron processors as mentioned on the Web page.

I think you're mistaken, they added celeron support in this build:
F8D 6.06 MB 2013/12/12
  1. Beta BIOS
  2. Support Celeron CPU

The one I'm talking about is this one (The one above it):

F8 6.07 MB 2014/01/24
  1. Support New 4[SUP]th[/SUP] Generation Intel Core Processors

Recon, those are both the same firmware. this is final version of that beta released earlier.

Also, for those having ram problems, especially with corsair memory modules that aren't in supported PDF, raise system agent and other IO voltages to +0.1 or +0.2 if needed until stable. My corsair ram blue screens or freezes OS X unless i run +0.2. it's a lousy batch of ram with crap timings that I got though. I bought with poor user experience and know better next time to go off the compat PDF for motherboard next time, especially when buying OC memory like I did. My memory specifically to get stable I had to lower speed from XMP (2133) to 1866, and raise IO voltages to make it 100% stable. there was no magic setting, AT ALL to make 2133 work. it took 12+ hours of testing and retesting to make 1866 work with all 4 modules. Biggest help though is the IO voltages (nothing helps stabilize memory OC more then that). be aware, 1600 is in fact a memory OC too so some modules will need some IO tweaking to run 1600mhz. DDR3 modules are all 1333 ram.

Thanks for the info Mystical and Willow

I am still getting the occasional lockups even after just re-installing Mavericks 10.9.1. I am using RipJaws X with the X.M.P. Profile set to 1600MHz. It's been unstable ever since I bought my board last year, that I don't even want to mess around with over-clocking anymore. I'll increase the Sys Agent voltage to +0.1 to see if that makes a difference. However, as of right now, I am so frustrated and annoyed at this thing that I want to throw it out the window, but I can't do that, I just built it not too long ago. :)

I did adjust voltages to +0.100V, I still got the lock up, I then got the lock up when I used +0.200V. However, the freezing only occurred when I was using Chrome to stream videos. I Google and found something about people experiencing freezes due to a Chrome bug...I updated flash, deleted my Default profile, and .plist/.plist.lock, also removed all remnants of Wireshark's BPF, and other Startup Items that might be left over from Mountain Lion. I will begin test again, using the machine like I normally would, then I will definitely know for sure if that was the problem. I have the voltages currently set to +0.100V again.
