oh wow thanks toleda,

I did replace the wifi with the recommended one from the wifi guide.

the frame buffer I found to work was 0C260000 now it is booting...

I thought someone had already posted the audio was the alc2xx chipset.. sorry cant remember the full chipset.

I may try and tackle that next. although seems like that was a huge workaround on the nuc... we'll see.

I am new to this forum but I have read the whole guide and forum posts for the nuc d55250wyk as well as the guide for the airport pcie from toleda before deciding to buy the Brix i5 4570r last week. I should be getting it by tuesday. I am really glad for the progress you have made.
I wonder if it would be too much to ask if you could do a step by step guide and attach the files you have used.

I have read some forums where users would use ubuntu to extract the original dsdt files from their boxes. Is this something that needs to be done for this box? What about the ssdt file that controls acpi power management? Have you got all the p-states for this cup working? Sorry for all this questions. Any help would be appreciated.

Thx

well after rebooting my system I am unable to get it to boot again without -x
will play with it a little to see if I can replicate my success from before...

OK now this is strange...

so I was not crazy and 0C260000 really does work.. but only once... i went into my boot usb and tried that option there and it worked... so I thought ok let me just make sure it was the right combination...

for the record the full set of options used was -f -v IGPlatformID=0C260000 after putting it in a second time it got all the way to where the graphics would come up but only showed the multicolored spinning disk and it did not initialize a background...

so not sure what that means... next step will be to wipe and run the install process over again.

I was able to get the install to run but at the end of the process it gives me an install failure because it could not create recovery disk. I am using clover as the boot loader. I am not sure if it is normal to have this error.

This installation failed was really odd. I was able to fix it and later reproduce it. During install if you name your partition Boot OS X then the installer won't create the recovery disk and it will failed. I started the installer again, I clicked on disk utility and erased the partition and left the name as untitled and then it installed successfully.

I am using Clover installer and I was able to successfully install on a gpt partition. I am using toleda wifi kext for broadcom and rehabman fakesmc version. In fakesmc, I am setting REV, RVBF and RVUF to 02140F00 0019 (2.14f19). In clovers config.plist, I am setting the smbios to iMac14,1 plus other setting for motherboard, etc that I found on the web. I am using the following boot args -v UseKernelCache=no dart=0

I also set the graphics enabler to yes and ig-platform-id to 0C260000.

I do get a few errors during boot from hard drive and then it get stucked after the bluetooth controller.
here are the errors I get:

SMCInitHelper Error MMIO fallback to old SMC
IOBluetoothHCIController Error - waited 30 seconds and still did not get the command wakeup() notification 0x4400

I do see in the logs that the fakesmc properties was loaded successfully and that the IOBluettothHCIController completed successfully.

I am not sure if the hang on boot is related to the video card setting or if it is related to something else. I will try setting darkwake=0 on boot and see if that helps.

darkwake=0 did not solve the hanging problem. I booted in safe mode by adding -x to boot args and I was able to boot and configure OSX.
When booting in safe mode, bluetooth, wifi, and trim enabling ssd works. Safari flickers a lot. Graphics/Display is set to unknown chipset. Ehternet is not working that is because I forgot to include the Realtek RTL8111G kext into clover.
Audio does not work either. I still need to research the right kext for audio.

I was able to get it to boot multiple times without -x in boot params using the following ig-platform-id 0x04160002 This was using a mini display port to dvi cable.

The graphics information still shows chipset model unknown and no kext loaded.

I also got ethernet working by using a kext from here:
https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Realtek-Network

How goes the progress?
I have this system coming as well.
I mostly bought it because the Mac Mini hasn't been updated yet.

I think the biggest issue is getting the graphics working/recognized properly by osx. I tried every single ig-platform-id in clover and I could not get it to work. even the last one I posted is not working anymore it hangs on boot. The only way to get it to boot is to use -x in the boot arguments. I am pretty sure I did not have to use -x to do the install.

I could not get sound working yet. I tried some AppleHDA.kext for ALC269 but I could not get it working. I am not sure if these kext get loaded after the video. I may try voodoohda next.

The pcie card for wifi that comes with the brix is not supported so you need to get something like this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/121037198350?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
and install toledaARPT.kext to get wifi and bluetooh working (https://github.com/toleda/airport_pcie-hm/tree/master/airport_kext_enabler).

Ethernet seems to be recognized using rehabman kext (https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Realtek-Network). It shows in the system properties but I have not tested since I am using wifi.

I have also used rehabman version of fakesmc.kext (https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-fakesmc-kozlek/downloads) to pass the right smc version. I had to edit fakesmc as following:
open down REV, RVBF and RVUF. By default, FakeSMC is using SMC version 1.30f3 which is displayed in Data field as 01300F00 0003. Replace with 02140F00 0019 2.14f19 that is the version for iMac14,1

I also added a SMBIOS section in config.plist with information for iMac14,1 that I found on the web but I am not sure if that is the right info.

The following guide to install clover is the best I found for this system:
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/to...ide-to-installing-os-x-mavericks-with-clover/

Attached is all the kext and config.plist in the right folder structure that I am using for clover. you just need to copy and paste on your clover usb install.
