The i7-3770S CPU upgrade is done! :D

Everything works. I had to change:
-AppleACPIPlatform.kext Rollback to 10.8.1 into Multibeast 5.3.1 -> added dart=0 to the org.chameleon.Boot.plist to disable VT-d instead
-Generate a new SSDT with "ssdtPRGen"
-Set "Control Temperature" to 73°C and "All-On Temperature" to 75°C in the BIOS

Hey MacTester!

I have basically all the same hardware as you, at least same motherboard and processor. I had it previously working fine. But I saw you were able to get power management working. I followed your tutorial and now it work-ish! I can only boot in safe mode, but in safe mode power management is working so I can finally turn screens off without crashing the computer.

So I was wondering how to get it out of safe mode, I've added dart=0, but I'm stuck on the generating a new ssdt with ssdtRPGen.

I get the error "'MaxTurboFrequency' must be in the range of 3093-6300".

Does that mean I missed a step, or did you run into this too and already figure out a way past it?

Any help is very appreciated! Thanks!

Josh,

Using an SSDT is essential. Your Hack will not run without it! Use a Macmini6,2 smbios.

I've used this tutorial to generate an SSDT: http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-buil...t-macmini-6-2-step-step-guide.html#post587203
-Do not enter any parameters in ssdtPRGen, just use the default settings.
-All speedstep related BIOS settings must be left on default.
-The BIOS must be patched
-NullCPUPowermanagement.kext must be removed (rebuild cache & repair permissions)

Good luck

Hi mactester57,

thank you for your great instructions  I managed to mod my own cube with similar components and successfully installed Mavericks. Now i decided to add a miniPCI Express FireWire Card Adapter from StarTech.com. I placed it where the ADC plug used to be. It works fine with my external drive, but when plugging in my Isight, it doesn't work at all o_O. (It still works on my IMac G4 with Leopard).
Any suggestions?

Bob

Hi bobderbaumeister

Welcome to the community. I guess, that you talk about this product: http://ch.startech.com/Karten-Adapt...PCI-Express-FireWire-Kartenadapter~MPEX1394B3

I can't see, that OS X is listed as compatible in the datasheet. Maybe, some plist in the kext for this card must be modified? I don't know, because I'm not a software specialist. Maybe, better ask this question here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/post-installation/ good luck!

Please don't forget to post pics of your cube. I'd like to see it!
