I ran the process again and it semi-restored the sound output -- I can send out to the TV or to Airplay only. There are no sound input options to select. See attached screenshot along with iojones.

You did not install 892 audio after your 10.9.1 Software Update.
MultiBeast 6.0 or newer - Select: Drivers > Audio > Realtek ALCxxx > With DSDT √ ALC892

I'm running daisukae14's config and his last posted has helped me a lot in trying to figure out what I didn't understand. I think I've figured it out mostly but I can't seem to run the scripts properly. OS X keeps telling me I don't have the right permissions "the file could not be executed because you do not have appropriate access privileges.", and I've tried everything in get info and even with the terminal command "chmod +x 'filename'", but the files' modified dates don't change and nothing is working. What am I doing wrong? Is there something wrong with my install; I'm the only user an I seem to have all admin permission???

In the meantime, can someone with our similar Z87n config share his 2 kexts or would that not work?

The obvious question is which script? Did you move the script to a different place?

The instructions are too easy (example, true for all .command scripts):
1. Select: Downloads/audio_hdmi_hd5k-azul-90_patch.command
2. Double Click
3. Enter Password

That script and the AppleHDA one from github... I know it should be as simple as double clicking and entering password, but it doesn't ask me for a password and it doesn't modify the kext files.

What could be wrong with my terminal? Or could it be that the kext files' permissions cant allow them to be altered? I guess I could play around with the script paths and modify the files in another location, or run the scripts on another mac (without messing up that install), but id love to be able to do it normally.

Don't play around, the result could be an unbootable system.
Permissions change when you move or change the script.
You do not need the hda edit as it is present in MultiBeast 6.0 and newer/Audio/Realtek ALCxxx
Delete the .command files from Downloads, download the azul.command file, double click, etc.

Hi Toleda,

I followed your instruction but had no luck, i have tried both hdmi and DP.

My configuration:

Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H
i7 4770
Nvidia GTX770

Any help?

Thanks
