Greetings,

I recently upgraded to Mavericks from Mountain Lion 10.8.5 with supplement. I have found that I now have to use nullcpupowermanagement to safely boot Mavericks which was not the case on Mountain Lion when I was able to use only the patched appleintelcpupowermanangement.kext provided within Multibeast. I have tired the new patched appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext for 10.9, but resulted in Kernel Panic. Hoping someone can help or suggest how I can achieve a more vanilla installation.

Let me know if I could provide any additional information that may assist.

Thanks.

I have the exact same problem. When i use nullcpupowermanagement i can boot and the system seems to be running fine, except speedstepping isnt working. using appleintelcpupowermanangement.kext provided by multibeast results in kernel panic.

btw i am also running os x maverick

hope we can find a solution!

Since I have UEFI BIOS, I was unable to go with no DSDT file and used the patched appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext for 10.9, now I'm able to boot without nullcpupowermanagement.kext

Before I also had problems with speed step stuck at 16X, but now using no DSDT, I get 4 PStates (Still needs work, but better).

Currently looking into Patching BIOS to address powermanagement issues.

UPDATE: My problems have returned. I'm unable to boot 10.9 without "nullcpupowermanagement.kext

I have tried the following:

Patched BIOS with native appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext
Patched BIOS with native appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext and DSDT
Patched BIOS with patched appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext
Patched BIOS with patched appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext and DSDT
Standard BIOS with patched appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext and DSDT

Can't solved the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if I could provide any additional information that might help to solve this issue. Thanks.

Bump.

Still hoping someone can help.

A few items I want to clarify. The problem again is that I'm unable to boot Mavericks 10.9 without NullCpuPowerManagement.kext

Can't boot (Kernel Panic) with naive AICPM or patched AICPM

System: UEFI / Patched w/ PMPatcher (Specifications: See signature)
Using DSDT, SSDT, System Definitions 12,2

org.chameleon.Boot.plist

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

</plist>

I'm able to boot Mountain Lion without any problems with AICPM.

Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have an SSDT installed to /Extra/ssdt.aml?

It would be helpful if you uploaded a photo of the KP. Just saying you're getting a KP is meaningless. There is useful information in the screen that results.

Thanks RehabMan.

I do have an SSDT.aml installed in my Extra.

Here attached is an image of the KP.

Make sure the SSDT you have is appropriate for your CPU.
Make sure you have GenerateCStates=No, GeneratePStates=No in /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist.
Make sure you have DropSSDT=Yes in /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist

See here for more info: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-...tive-ivy-bridge-cpu-gpu-power-management.html

I created my SSDT with revogirl's script and compiled with no errors. Based on CPU multiplier 34, Max CPU freq. 3800 (should I have used 3400?) for my i7 2600K (Sandy Bridge Processor).

My org.chameleon.Boot.plist has both GenerateCStates and GeneratePStates set to = No.

And DropSSDT=Yes in /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist

I use the same files (DSDT, SSDT, and org.chameleon.Boot.plist) in Mountain Lion will no problems. I have read the thread and only took in the relevant information pertaining to Sandy Bridge Processors. ie. system definition 12,2 and used revogirls original script (Non Ivy Bridge) for SSDT. Just stuck.

Without seeing the files, I can't offer any advice.

Again "Thank You RehabMan"!

There were 2 changes I made which solved my problem (all of which came to light after your assistance).

1. Used SSDT from MultiBeast instead of the one I created.

2. Edited my "org.chameleon.Boot.plist" to include
<key>GenerateCStates</key>
<string>No</string>
<key>GeneratePStates</key>
<string>No</string>

Originally I omitted that since I thought default has those set at "No".

Currently I'm able to boot with the Patched AICPM.kext, have yet to try reinstalling the
naive AICPM.kext

Based on my system specifications, do you think that's the way to go (Naive AICPM)?

1. UEFI (Patched)
2. Sandy Bridge Processor 2600K
3. (EVGA) Nvidia GTX 570
4. EVGA Z68 FTW MB
