I guess this is a very individual question regarding ones wish for safety, but yes, I would do a second backup now so that you have a clean install, a install with working nvidia gpu and the one you are really using. Like this you will always have a working fall back system and the option to get the original kexts out of the clean installation.

Ok that's what I'll do then, I think it's safer !

Just a thing is weird, I have full resolution on my win 8 boot, but not in Mountain Lion. And on top of screen, "OS X nvidia drivers" is picked, instead of "web drivers Nvidia", and when I change it, it reboots and switch back to "os x nvidia drivers" ! I don't wanna mess things up, but don't know what to do...

Well I don't know if this also works for mavericks, but I guess it's the same for 10.8.5 and mavericks, so you should follow this post.

Hope everything will work:thumbup:

@NimaNima: Did the fix work?

I'm not really sure, cause now when I pick "Nvidia web driver", the computer doesn't ask to reboot. But when I do, it reput itself to osx driver. And in the Nvidia driver manager, the card is still "not supported".
Anyway, I can't find a place to pick and choose the resolution !

Still searching... :)

Ok now everything is perfect, I put my second GPU gtx 550ti, have my three screens working with full resolution !! And even my firewire card was natively working... !

Now my last thing to do to be perfect : I'd like to have the choice of the boot (win8 or mac os) every time I turn my pc ON, cause right now it is set on mac by default, and have to press F12 to chose to boot from my other ssd to go to windows 8 ! You think I can have that choice ?

I definitely think this is possible and has often been done. I did a quick search around the forum and there are lots of threads dealing with this.
If you found some guideline/instructions that work for you I would be happy if you post them here. I will then put them into my first post (of course with your name) so that others can access these informations directly.
If any problems arise don't hesitate to ask, although I never did a dual boot system :D

Hey dasdf!!

Just to let you know, that I have my hackintosh running almost perfectly :) ... The BIOS update and the change of monitor (no VGA connection), solved all the problems.

Besides the sound issues in the motherboard (if I connect headphones to top case input, I have clear sound!!), I'm having some problems with Wi-Fi.

I bought a PCI card TP-link TL-WN751ND, installed this kext, but I can only connect to wi-fi with: -f cpus=1

I'm a little lost with kext installation.

I requested a dsdt patch for z87x-ud3h and it is now available if some people are into that. If you feel something might be missing re:dsdt, be sure to mention in that thread.

For me, I requested the patch to get the second monitor working flawlessly instead of half stretched out (my logic was that if the correct ports are addressed in a dsdt, it will resolve) but I'm don't have access to more than one monitor at the moment so can't test if a dsdt could fix it.

anyways, here's the link:

@baza: Thanks very much for your update! What exactly are your audio problems. My audiojack in the front and in the rear work perfectly. But I did not try any 6.1 features or something like that.
And about the wireless adapter. I bought the one from the buyer's Guide and it works natively. So if I were you and needed wifi I would think of buying that one (and giving back the other one if possible). This will probably save you lots of time :D
@nightlite: Thanks for requesting! I will have a look at it tomorrow. Does it fix the speedstepping problems? New p-states or something?
