Hi iyewo,

I cannot recreate the problem you are seeing, My suggestion would be to try out Post #184 and see where this takes you.

Working HDMI Audio using HD4600+GT640 SSDT Approach

Hi Guys,

Another update for you if you require HDMI.

Haswell HDMI Audio

I wanted to share/add my experience of enabling HDMI audio, For those of you running 10.8.5 Mountain Lion and 10.9.x Mavericks. I followed toleda's guide to the letter. It is very detailed and enables you to acknowledge the correct steps by using the tools attached in Post#1.

These are the exact steps I used and the information I obtained and extracted for my configuration.
Audio for this motherboard is ALC892 as you all know. In my original post I added ALC892 without DSDT as I use a Creative 2.1 audio system. This installs HDAEnabler1.kext in S/L/E. So here are my steps as follows.
1. Navigate to S/L/E and delete the HDAEnabler1.Kext. Run MultiBeast 5.5.3 for Mountain Lion. Run MultiBeast 6.0.0 for Mavericks and install ALC892 with DSDT.
2. Navigate to /Extra and open your Org.Chameleon.Boot.Plist. Add this to it
Code:
[INDENT] <key>DropSSDT</key>
  <string>Yes</string>[/INDENT]
3. Download the SSDT-1 from toleda's Post#1 and put it in the /Extra folder, rename it to SSDT.aml. Close the Org.Chameleon.Boot.Plist.
4. In Mountain Lion navigate to S/L/E and locate AppleHDA.Kext, right click on it, Get Info. Version should be v2.4.7. In Mavericks apply the same procedure and the version should be v2.5.2.
Download the corresponding patch.command.zip from the thread in accordance to the Mac OS X version and AppleHDA.kext version you have.
4a. Follow procedure 4 this time navigating to AppleIntelFramebufferAzul.kext, right click Get Info. In Mountain Lion the version should be v8.16.74, in Mavericks the version should be v8.18.26
Download the corresponding patch.command.zip from the thread in accordance to the Mac OS X version and AppleIntelFramebufferAzul.kext you have.
5. Open each of the patch.command scripts entering your password when prompted.
6. Last of all Rebuild Cache and Repair Permissions with the tools from toleda's thread.

Here is a screen shot of both HDMI options available in System Preferences/Sound/Output.

Hope this helps you and thanks toleda for a great documented guide. Haswell HDMI Audio

Hey WW. Thanks for updating the thread for 10.9. Everything went smooth. Only thing I can't get working is the Airplay Mirroring and I'm sure it's because I can't get the intel 4600 graphics to play nice with the GTX760. I tried following the process you had where you remove the graphic card and install with the onboard graphics and it worked when I installed 10.8.5, but after removing the card this go around I couldn't get the monitor to display anything without the graphic card installed and the monitor hooked to it. Checked BIOS and I had it set to IGFX so I'm not sure why it wouldn't display anything.

Now in order for me to get the Airplay Mirroring to work I know I need IGFX selected in the BIOS and it still is. I have my monitor plugged into the HDMI port on the graphic card and my system definition set to iMac 14,2. I had it working flawless in 10.8.5, but in Mavericks I'm no longer getting the airplay icon from the drop down in the upper right and In About This Mac it's not listing the 4600 at all. Any suggestions on how to get the the system to recognize the 4600 and graphic card without having to do a complete reinstall? Any suggestions would be great.

Hi Tylerrouse,

Glad your update went well for the exception of Airplay. I have no airplay devices to test, so I am happy to trouble shoot this issue with you. Have you updated from Mountain Lion 10.8.5 to Mavericks 10.9 or is this a clean install.

Graphics priorities have changed in the latest MultiBeast. If you have clean installed add the IGPEnabler=Yes to your Org.Chameleon.Boot.Plist.
Code:
<key>IGPEnabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>

Yes it's in the plist and this was a clean install to Mavericks from 10.8.5. I remember having to add it after I installed 10.8.5, but it was included when I ran multi beast 6.0 for 10.9. Here's what I've got. Thanks for helping me troubleshoot.

I followed this thread to get my system up and running with Mountain Lion, and it is running great!!

Now that Mavericks is out, I have a couple questions...

* Is there a reason why we can't just download and update our system from the App Store? My computer has been telling me that it is there waiting.

* I currently have my system dual booting into OSX and Win 8 using two SSD's. Will I lose dual booting if I now install mavericks as described?

thanks
dean

OK, another suggestion, depending what port selection you are using. Add this to your Org.Chameleon.Boot.Plist. This would have been the original PlatformID when you installed 10.8.5. It was changed to add compatibility for more layouts.

Code:
<key>IGPlatormID</key>
<string>04160000>/string>

Hi meminiau,
Yes you can download it from the Mac App store but don't run it. Create your UniBeast 3.0 Mavericks installer and follow the guide that I wrote. Remember not to partition/format your installation drive. This will work as a updated installation. If you just run the Install.App you will boot straight back into 10.8.5

No you won't lose your dual booting. My suggestion would be, shut down your system and disconnect your Windows 8 SSD. Then install Mavericks over your Mountain SSD. Once happy with your updated installation, plug in your Windows 8 SSD and you should be good to dual boot.

Hi WW,
First of all thanks a mil for a detailed step by step guide for HDMI.
I will try it and revert.

Today I got a wired problem related to graphics.
I hit a road block like in BIOS I did not change the internal graphics to any.
I mean Init Display First = IGFX.
I used my 9800GT in PCI 1 slot.
Problem is if I do not change Init Display First = PCI I do not see my moniter is getting signal.
If I change it to PCI then I can not see BIOS see the 10.9 screen directly.
So as my machine has 3 OSs I can not choose other OS (as till Cimera screen the moniter has no signal).
Can you help ? I mean should I use IGFX or PCI in BIOS? What you did as we have the same mobo?
Did you connect GPU card in PCI 1 slot?

For help I used HDMI to DVI cable when I was using internnal graphics.
For 9800GT I used DVI to DVI cable to connect my Dell U2412M moniter.

--Thanks & regards
