Succes! Hi, about half a year ago i got a Powermac G4 Graphite in terrible condition. So i got i painted in the mainstream stormtrooper look, and put a Haswell chip in it. Here are the specs, as well as a ton of pictures.

Specs:

Intel i5 4670 3.6 Ghz.
GA H87N Wifi Mini-ITX.
Corsair Vengeance LP White 8 gb 1600 mhz RAM.
Corsair CX750m PSU 80+ Bronze.
Powermac G4 Graphite.
Samsung 840 SSD 120 gb.
Toshiba 500 gb 7200rpm HDD.

Before the pictures, here are some of the things that are working, and a few that are not working.

WORKING:
10.8.5 Mountain lion is running just fine, booting in around 10-12 seconds from my 840 SSD. I also have full graphics support from the HD4600 integrated graphics. Sleep/wake are also working fine.

NOT WORKING:
Sound and wifi.

Temps:
I went to a LAN, and had the system running for 2 days on load, and it never went above 50 degrees.

If you have any questions regarding the process of fitting the components, or how i got 10.8.5 on the machine, please ask. Else, feel free to comment on how i did, and if so, what i can improve.

Hi,

Beautiful work. But could you please detail how you managed to get 10.8.5 onto this board?

I'm trying to set up the same mobo but with an i7-4770s and finding it a nightmare. I can get it to boot and install, but after running multibeast I can only get it to run in safe mode.

Any advice (BIOS settings etc.) would be very appreciated.

running -v it looks like it is something to do with FakeSMC but i'm really not sure (using the one in the latest MB)

Thanks,

Tom

I've got the same board and ran into some issues as well. I had to disable VT-d to get the computer to reliably boot.

The day before yesterday my pc wouldn't power off properly, it would just reboot after shutdown. I fixed that with disabling wake on lan.

In Multibeast, select the ALC 892 and sound should be working fine. For networking I selected the Atheros and Intel kexts and those network ports also work fine after that.

I also switched the wifi mini PCIe for an OSX compatible one out of a laptop i had and wifi works (but no bluetooth ofc). You should be able to find a compatible PCIe card for less than €10 on ebay.

I currently am using triple monitors on the HD4600 and it all works just fine.
