Succes! Hi, about half a year ago i got a Powermac G4 Graphite in terrible condition. So i got i painted in the mainstream stormtrooper look, and put a Haswell chip in it. Here are the specs, as well as a ton of pictures.
Specs:
Intel i5 4670 3.6 Ghz.
GA H87N Wifi Mini-ITX.
Corsair Vengeance LP White 8 gb 1600 mhz RAM.
Corsair CX750m PSU 80+ Bronze.
Powermac G4 Graphite.
Samsung 840 SSD 120 gb.
Toshiba 500 gb 7200rpm HDD.
Before the pictures, here are some of the things that are working, and a few that are not working.
WORKING:
10.8.5 Mountain lion is running just fine, booting in around 10-12 seconds from my 840 SSD. I also have full graphics support from the HD4600 integrated graphics. Sleep/wake are also working fine.
NOT WORKING:
Sound and wifi.
Temps:
I went to a LAN, and had the system running for 2 days on load, and it never went above 50 degrees.
If you have any questions regarding the process of fitting the components, or how i got 10.8.5 on the machine, please ask. Else, feel free to comment on how i did, and if so, what i can improve.
