If im using discrete graphics and ivy bridge cpu should i use option A or option B or even both. When i edited it the first time i used option b for gfx and cpu power management.
A is for CPU
B is for GPU. If you have both integrated and discrete, do both GPUs.

Ok so did both method a and b for igpu and discreet now i get the stupid failed to load ring table on boot is this a graphics issue or what. any idea on how to solve it?
Thx for the help btw

You were told to read post 1 but you are not reading it. Here is a hint, look for failed to set ring table in post 1

Don't think that because I'm asking questions i haven't read post number one. I've actually 3-4 times already. The reason I'm asking is because i already used plist pro and added my device id and vendor id but that didn't work. And im running on mac mini 6,2 with Ivi bridge so I'm not sure why it didn't work but thank you for your input.

Update: Anybody know how to get around spinlock acquisition error. im gonna reinstall for now but it gets annoying having to do this every time it occurs

Update 2: Hey toleda im not sure if this matters that much but i realized i used giacomoleopardo's post here to do the graphics power management.

do you think that might have something to do with the error?

For the last time, see Post #1 regarding the Console/ring table message.

your right i should reread the 3 terrible paragraphs that all in all say add device id and vender id to info.plist and that should fix it. thats like saying put the sparkplug in the car. it doesnt fix anything and doesnt give any info on what to do

oh and btw thanks again for the help but i managed to find a modified info.plist for someone using a device id similar to mine changed the one digit that was off... and guess what it didnt work which means rereading post one wouldn't have done anything

This is what it says under paragraph 2 on "B. Mountain Lion/Ivy Bridge Graphics Power Management". "On the iMac and MacBookAir models, max power is half of MacBookPro. However, reducing max power does not reduce performance. A kernel error remains (AICPM failed to load ring table). The ring table is present in IOReg/X86PlatformPlugin. For optional discrete graphics (iMac13), the discrete graphics card device_id is used for graphics power management." Which means you should ignore the error, everyone has it.

Ring table spam is unrelated to your not being able to boot and probably unrelated to this thread.

Boot "-v"' to diagnose.
