Onboard audio will not work until the codec is repaired. HDMI audio may work, see Mountain Lion HDMI Audio - AMI DSDT

my mic doesnt work and in preferences there is no input device detected. I'm using my hdmi for sound and am wondering if i just need to redownload my realtek 892 driver from MB. I didnt want to mess up something so i thought id ask

no device input for audio. I want to plug in a mic. didnt install the realtec 892 from MB cuz I thought it would mess with the HDMI audio, I might be wrong. hope this works kept trying to download ioreg, it keeps telling me its corrupt when I try to upload it.
