Followed this guide -
In Appstore MacOS 10.8.3 installer is only available, so i used it with unibeast, then Probook installer 6.1b3 - everything works!
Thanks for a great guide.
It was VERY easy.

Mine is failing during the install for some reason. It gets about 85 percent done then fails. I was using a USB 3 stick so now I'm trying on a USB 2.

The UniBeast creation or the actual installation using the USB? Make sure you are using the USB2.0 port(s) on your laptop

OK here's what happened. I switched from the USB3.0 stick to a USB 2.0 stick and the install finished although I only had the non-laptop version on the USB2 stick for now. I got to ML, started installing the HP Installer and I used the 44xx settings because I didn't see the 45xx on the list, I used the settings right from your page. The HP Installer got 75 percent done and the system locked up. On reboot, it would never boot back to OSX even with the -v -f GraphicsEnabler=No UseKernelCache=No. It would freeze up right after the lnx2mac Ethernet initializing string. That's where I stopped. I was going to start completely over with the laptop version of Unibeast tonight. Any ideas?

Before anything else, you must have select target for laptops or whatever the setting is in UniBeast. This is the first laptop I had done and was used to just using the desktop version of UniBeast and wondered why on earth I was having trouble! Turned out it was because I hadn't selected the laptop option..

Best thing to do is, re-create your USB installer using a USB2.0 pen and UniBeast 10.8 with laptop option selected

I've had this recently on my 4540s, add -x to the rest of the flags and it should complete the install OK from the point it now freezes. For me this issue came about after changing the hard drive for a SSD, I also then got the boot0 issue too once it had installed.

Pete- I am not having trouble with the OSX installer, I was able to install OSX with the options listed at the first post. The problems are happening after trying to install the HP Installer. The installer locked up 75 percent of the way through, then when rebooting the machine, it wouldn't boot all the way to OSX. Can you tell me what settings you used in the HP installer for the 4540s?

See my howto.

Exactly what you selected. I mirrored your setup.
