Moutain lion on Dell optiplex 7010-Works great

Got this setup about a month ago...got bored...decided to make it a hackintosh...lol....specs as followed..

17-3770 cpu
8gg ram
500 gig hd
used on board video(intel 4000)to install at first then put my nvidia gt240 in...
had a copy of toni's mountain lion usb from a previous upgrade...

Steps I used to get it going:

shut off visualization in bios....

Booted to ml usb drive.....formated harddrive ....installed....took about 30 minutes....things still not working is;

audio.....this motherboard uses realtek ALC269 HD Audio Codec..not having much luck with it yet....but only been using it for 2 nights...
using realtek gigabit network card add on...has always worked on all my hack builds....but will test the onboard one tonight
To get nvidia going had to put in GraphicsEnabler=yes to get it to work....otherwise has worked AWESOME...

Thanks Toni and all the folks here for a great website and all the help you give us...

Success with the audio just this morning...was searching on the forum this morning and found a post that talked about a new voodoo audio file....googled it and found it...downloaded and installed.....worked slick and no Kp's so far.....google this file....VoodooHDA_2.8.0_ML2.pkg.....download and install....now to check to see if onboard lan works...then be golden....thanks all...Thanks to
MrAtariMac for posting the link and answer for me...

I'm trying to get this fully working on an OptiPlex 7010 USFF and having trouble getting the graphics fully driven. I'm using a DisplayPort to DVI adapter and its being detected as a Intel HD Graphics 2500 64 MB of Shared Memory.

Do you have any advice on how to get it working properly?

Thanks,

I am going to try to turn my Optiplex 7010 into a Hackintosh this weekend, and I wondered what guide you used to get yours working. Is there any insights you can give me to make the process easier?

Thanks in advance.

The onboard GFX is a function of the Intel CPU - it appears that you have a CPU w HD 2500 GFX and this will not work
You need a CPU w HD4000

You may want to check w Dell and see if they can tell you which of the Intel CPU'S that have HD4000 will work in this system.

Hi,

Did anybody try to update 10.8.3 after installing this in 10.8.2 ?

Yep....had to repair permissions after I did it though.....then worked well after that....good luck ...nice machine....bought it refurbed from dell for 450.00....lol

Hi!
Where is the visualization in bios?
What do you mean: "shut off visualization in bios...."

It's actually called VT-d. Something about virtualization direct I/O. I think we can leave virtualization on. That's how I'm running now, no KPs, but not fully operational yet.

I had to install the IntelE1000 from MB, too, to get ethernet working again. It worked before Multibeast, but not after without the new intel driver.

Working on getting 10.8.5 going on my i7-3770 Optiplex 7010...

I know this is an old thread but has anyone tried installing OSX 10.9 on a Dell 7010?

Yep...and it worked slick....worked for awhile...but now I had it crash on me and can't recover it....but it does work..
