Try another USB 2 port. Don't use the the Front Panel USB 2 ports. My KVM switch USB cable uses one of the USB 2 ports in line with the PS/2 connector.

Finally got MultiBeast to work by reinstalling Mountain Lion. Now, on to the fun! Thanks again for your help.

Concerning MultiBeast's installation failures, especially with v. 5.1.2(and probably other versions as well) with the initial installation of Multibeast, be wary of checking any of the options in the "Customization" menu. I discovered quite by chance that checking the "Verbose Boot" option invariably caused Multibeast 5.1.2 to announce that it had failed to install just as it seemed to be finishing up. Not sure if this is true for all of the Customization options, but it was certainly true for the Verbose Boot option. Some sort of a bug in the installer, perhaps...

Hey guys,

I have the weirdest problem I've ever faced.
Everything works after setting everything up.
I'm at 10.8.2, running a 660 Ti 2GB at full resolution with no extra kexts; everything is detected and beautiful!
It even goes to sleep - but just once really. A one-time sleeper.
The only non com.apple kexts I'm running are the Ethernet one, the HDA Enabler for the audio along with the FakeSMC and all its sensors.
The non-build related ones are VirtualBox and CUDA related.

After it sleeps and I wake it, hitting sleep again doesn't do anything.
After a while though (maybe 10-15 minutes, it goes into a sort of sleep again, but when I turn it on, the screen remains dark, though the disks do spin up).
Anyone else faced a problem like this in the past? I tried searching for it, but I'm not sure what terms I should use.

Any tips would be appreciated!

Endracion,
Since this thread is about using a GA-Z77X-UP5 TH and either HD4000 or a GTX 650 Ti using the MultiBeast configuration outlined in the thread's original post, I recommend you
  • post in Slugnet's Golden Build thread, or
  • post in a build description with a GA-Z77X-UP5 TH & a 660 Ti, or
  • start your own thread in General Help forum section.

dogayilmaz,
You're having a problem with what?

BTW, you're Profile system components are not filled in properly. You also didn't put your system in your signature block. Please read the tonymacx86 Forum's Rules & Policies: http://www.tonymacx86.com/faq.php

Most things are working properly, but there are a few areas for improvement:
1) Airplay is not working. It shows the airplay icon, and my two Apple TV's, but if I select one it "tries" to work and then the screen flashes blank and then back to the desktop and the airplay icon disappears out of the menu bar at the top of the screen. I've seen a couple of others with this issue but no definite solution. 2) my logitech rightlight technology webcam is not recognized by the OS. I get nothing when I plug it in to any of the USB ports. They all seem to work fine for external drives, so it must be something with recognizing the camera. 3) I am getting some buffering when watching YouTube videos. Could that just be an issue of not having enough horsepower since I'm using the onboard GPU?

1. What System Definition are you using? To get Airplay working try MacMini6,2 (i7 processor only) SysDef. User MultiBeast to change the SysDef as that will give you the best results. (For those of you who are reading this post that have an i5 processor, use the SysDefs of MacMini6,1.) Both of the previous SysDefs are for Ivy Bridge motherboards and processors. I am still using MacPro3,1, and I won't be able to test these SysDef's until ~March 1. (Another note, toleda has noted that the iMac13,1/2 SysDefs have SpeedStep problems, so I can't recommend those SysDefs at this time.)

2. Logitech usually has drivers for it's Mac products. Check the Logitech website. I'm using Apple's iSight camera which works using the Thnunderbolt to FW800 adapter and a FW800 to FW400 adapter (which is a pain and I will be putting a FW 800/400 PCI-e card into Thunderball soon).

3. I can try the video in question my my Zorro build if you give me the link. Zorro has no trouble with the YouTube or videos using the HD3000. Maybe my i7-2600K processor has something to do with it, but I doubt it.
