Planning: The Watercooled Mac Pro

So… it seems like you need to build something yourself to attach the cooler to the logic board. I have seen water cooler mods, which custom made a holder by cutting thick acrylic glass. You could use the dimensions of the coper part of the original cooler.
I will attach some pictures of a water cooler whose holder can be removed and replaced:

Thanks for the info! I'm definately checking this out!

Jeffinslaw: If you don't mind you could also post in this thread, I wouldn't mind.

I gave up this idea.
Although I love my Mac Pro, I'm going to build a hackintosh now..
Of course with watercooling ;)

ProbablyI'll do a project log in here.

I think it is a nice idea, but why not put the radiator and reservoir on the back of the Mac Pro? It'd be great to have a large tube reservoir on the back to see all the cooling. It wouldn't mean drilling the Mac Pro because you could make a mount panel that had holes to match the perforations on your Mac Pro and use 3mm fixings through the mesh.

If you really want to use the G5 case to house that stuff then you should go to town on it - huge radiator inside, enormous reservoir on the top shelf and enormous clear side door.....maybe put a fish tank in there too.

Check this one out with it's external, rear-mounted radiator. http://www.overclock.net/t/175131/first-case-mod-water-cooled-pc-in-g5-case
