Hi maxhello!
Did you patched lapic kernel for 10.8.2 (12.2.0)?
Did you patched lapic kernel for 10.8.2 (12.2.0)?
Search and download Pacifist.app, with this, you can unpack the UpdateCombo and find the original mach_kernel. Is Hidden, so make first visible with "Show all Files.app"!.(Cannot find original kernel to try facetime )
I'm using GUID Partiton table
Alright so I fixed my chimera. Boot1h fixed the problem it seems
Now the new problem is, my windows won't boot from Chimera. I've installed windows 7 and 8 and they both boot from the same drive. What I mean is, when I open chimera; I get 3 options to select "Untitled" (win8) , "Mac" , "Untitled 1" (win7) and when I boot using win 7 it gives me the error saying no bootloader found. The workaround to this is booting from windows 8. When I click on windows 8 (a.k.a untitled) i get options to boot into windows 7 and 8 (i don't want this option, i want to manually boot win 7 and 8 from chimera itself) - How should i do that ?
Second problem : If I boot windows through chimera, it gives me the error that "boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible". I need to set windows as active partition then run the win7 recovery disk to fix that error. After fixing the error I cannot see chimera anymore.
If I make osx partition active to see chimera, win7 boot messes up again
What to do ?
Thanks for all the support given by this community.
I am able to get everything to work except for
1) Wireless card (need to buy a working card and change it)
2) Usb 3.0 (doesn't make a differnce, i'll use usb 2.0 hub)
3) iMessage and facetime (i'll try the original mach_kernel fix)
Welcome Back Mickey!!! Glad to hear you are doing well I hope you will be 100% very soon Another HP laptop Mickey?!?! ugh.... I guess you like the challenge Did you install 10.8.2 on your new DV7? The new ones don't need the lapic cpus=1 fix? NICE!!
No, HP asked me too high money for repair (It was not a bios problem, but chipset), and offered me a discount to buy new, I accepted:ok! Thats comforting...
WOW! You are a genius. Anyways, tell me did you fixed you lappy? (6190sl)
no hurry!

paid 449 euro, with discount from an authorized dealer (who was already on offer : 799 euro normal price, 599 in offer, -Hp bonus=449)
i5, but with great 7700 GeekBench points (previous lappy stay on 9725/9740 with i7), but HD4000 is 50% faster!!!!!!!!
Check out the article I wrote on my blog. It addresses this exact issue. It is a bit of work at the recovery command line to fix, but possible. Blog link is in my signature.
Basically, you need to keep one of the Windows partitions active (probably the Win7 partition). Windows likes to have an active boot partition. And you'll see how you need to copy the boot files over from one Windows partition to another.
Your, is a complete guide, good!Do not worry about the Windows boot loader,
this is the cure:
Start with the Windows CD, or the recovery discs:
start the command prompt:
diskpart (Enter after each command)
list disk (you need to see the disks you have)
sel disk 0 (or if you have another 1.2, etc..)
list part (to see the partitions you have)
sel part 1 (windows partition, attention must be able to recognize it, can also be 2 if you have not deleted the recovery partition)
active (active back the windows partition)
assign letter=C (the letter of the Windows partition)
exit (to exit diskpart)
bcdboot C:\windows /s C:/l it-IT (Be careful with spaces, need to copy the boot files of Windows, "it-IT" for Italian, on the other you see)
bootsect /nt60 C:
reboot
Windows boot loader came back!!!!!
I can try, give me a time,Great!!!
So now Micky! Can you assess my webcam problem?? (follow previous posts)
