Thanks for the informative guide! I had a weird video issue, but once I pulled my Radeon HD6850 out and installed ML while using the onboard graphics card, everything went as smoothly as your guide said it would.

Hi after installing Chimera 1.11.0 there is no such file in /extra. I have created my own with the content you have provided.

Edit: There is no need for reinstall, i can boot my ml-lion fine with using the unibeast stick.

Sounds like chimera 1.11.0 wasn't installed correct. You can try install Chimera 1.10.0, which comes along with multibeast, after you''ve installed it, try installing chimera 1.11.0 again and reboot.

The Fix to issues with HD4000 not working on Multiple Monitors .

On Z77x-UD3H or UD3H or UD5H

Download chimera ver 1.11. Install it.

Add the following string ( shown below ) to the bottom of org.chameleon.Boot.plist located in /Extra and CHANGE THE VIDEO MEMORY IN BIOS TO 96 MB.

<key>device-properties</key>
<string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000000006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string>

Reboot and things should work fine now
Now the video should work perfectly on both monitors

Awesome guide, I had ML up and running on my Z77-DS3H w/ i7-3770 before but somethings just weren't quite right. Everything's perfect now. I think the system definition was screwing my setup before

Thanks a bunch OP

The same happend here. In Lion it would say Intel 7 series, and in ML it sas unknown ACHI Standard Controller. But I noticed that the screenshots
tonymacx86 posted here on the site regarding ML and the Ivybridge/HD4000-support show the same "unknown ACHI Standard Controller".

i have installed it with Multibeast and Standalone and EVERYTIME there is no such a file in /extra :( What's going wrong here?

After reinstalling it definitely stucks every time @ ""ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::registerLPCDriver - failed to locate SMC driver" - After reinstall i tried to install Chimera as you described but still no file in /extra (only the file which includes the iMac Data).

If i boot with my USB Stick (unibeast) and choose my hdd it still works.

Thanks pmeisner and hbala77 :)

you helped me get over the first HD4000 hurdle.
With the device property string inserted in boot.chameleon.plist, I have now got HD4000 working and it shows the correct properties in "About this Mac" as Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB. phew - that cost me some time...

What does not yet work (is it supposed to??):
Only when I connect my monitor to HDMI do I get video output.
When connected to DVI the only output to the screen is during verbose boot and it ends before the GUI is loaded.

Is it possible to get dual monitors (i.e. the desktop spread out over two monitors) with HD4000 at all? i.e. one monitor connected to HDMI, the other to DVI and both controlled via OSX system properties.
Does anyone have this config running OK?

Curious as hell...
Thanks in advance.

Michael

After installing "FakeSMC.kext" with Multibeast it works fine. I think you've forgotten it in your tutorial. Maybe you edit it.

Cheers

Edit: FU!!! :-D I have not clicked onto "UserDSDT Install" which includes the FakeSMC.kext.

I'm so sorry.
