Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

@CaseySJ could you help to take a look at this issue?
I upgraded my BIOS from F7 to F23 and planning replace my 12700K with 13700K.

I reconfigured the bios and turned AvoidRuntimeDefrag off and SetupVirtualMap on.

But, I am still facing boot loop. Currently, I am using 12700K.

Sorry, but what "bar"?

The progress bar appears during boot, but should not appear after we enter our login password.

@CaseySJ

The after signin progress bar is displayed when FileVault is turned on, and the disk is being decrypted.

Hello,
I'm currently running on Monterey 12.2, OC version 7.8 - been a while since I updated b/c everything runs pretty well. I realized that the mac software updates were not downloading, so I decided I would start getting everything up to date and maybe upgrade to ventura.

So, to upgrade Opencore, looked like the easiest / recommended way is to use HackinDrom.

I tried to use the tool to upgrade, but saw this error message. What I wanted to check ,was my plan to resolve, which was to manually update from 7.8 to 8.3 using the "mini guide" process, then hackindrom should work from then on.

It also has the option to "update anyway" but was not willing to experiment on my machine like that :)
NOTE: This version of ocvalidate is only compatible with OpenCore version 0.9.2!

Interesting. I've not seen this problem before. Might be good to try a fresh, clean installation of Ventura.
Thanks for your reply. I just downgrade to F7. Will look into the issue in the near future.

I'm using z690 aero g with 13700k on latest Ventura.
No problems.
You need to upgrade BIOS to latest version before plugging new CPU.
did you have any specific changes in the Opencore config?

I’m having an issue with updating to 13.4. I keep getting a “failed to prepare update“ message. I haven’t tried to update in a while. If I reboot I can choose Mac OS update installer in the picker, but the update crashes and the computer restarts a little way through the startup progress bar. Anyone else run into this?

We can fix this by opening the config.plist in latest version of OpenCore Configurator and going to the UEFI -> Drivers page. Then uncheck “Load Early” for each driver you see there.

Do I do that, then run the upgrade, or vice versa? Am just worried about getting into a non-bootable state

EDIT:
Thinking about it I would guess using the latest opencore configurator would have the right settings, so update the config, then upgrade.

Also, @CaseySJ the first section of the main post where is says

  • MacPro7,1 users click here for additional information about RestrictEvents.
That link does not seem to work anymore - clicking it just takes me to the top of the 1st page of the thread.
