Holy cow!, it works!. After spending most of the weekend failing, I finally got it working, I can backup my build over the air to the Raspberry Pi Time Machine. The easiest and most accurate guide I found to follow is linked below.View attachment 566030View attachment 566029

I was having problems with OpenMediaVault, I kept getting a failure on boot, though I will have another attempt at it but from my M1 Air. I didn't mind the terminal work, I learnt a lot in the process, connecting remotely via ssh, figuring out nano etc. It is a waste using the M.2 SSD for sure, I may purchase a large capacity HDD instead. It's probably easier to set up the Pi as a NAS using OpenMediaVault (much less terminal work) and just connect to the NAS and set up Time Machine from your hack.
OpenMediaVault can even run as a Docker container on a Pi. The advantage of this would be auto updates and easier management of OpenMediaVault via the Docker dashboard.
Also, the NVMe SSD is probably wasted due to USB 3 and 1GBase-T bottlenecks. Personally, I'd just use an old 2.5" HDD.

Hello and sure. I just used it to do a fresh install of Ventura 13.3 onto 250GB Samsung 850 EVO. I removed the Intel WiFi/BT stuff so it's a slender 11MB, I'm switching things up by using the M.2 M Key for a BCM43602. But I'm waiting for another adapter from China because it has the USB power cable for BT. Then I can remove the Intel card and use the M.2 E Key for the RX 560!, exciting!. EFI attached with SMBIOS info removed.
