Hi, everyone.
Really need help !!!
I am very headache and problem for installation Catalina right now.
I reinstall by using Clover for fresh installation at Samsung 870 EVO SSD.
(*I tested lots of times using Nvidia GPU, sometimes succeeded installed Catalina and sometimes it failed.
***Using Boot Arg " dart=0 nvda_drv=1" ***
Reason Failed: Screen showing black screen / no display with an icon - please refer to the attachment.

So, I decided to try reinstall Catalina again, and also fresh installation with my another GPU - AMD Radeon RX580.
Using this GPU Radeon RX580 for Catalina installation, always turned into black screen with no display icon.
***Is this GPU needs any boot-arg ?*** / Any special boot?
This AMD Radeon RX580 is fully native for Catalina, as I tested.

Who knows this problems?
What have I done wrong or missed?
I knew this mobo could run well in Catalina.
Just don't know what I have done wrong or mistaken during the Catalina installation.

Can someone please help?
your profile says RX580 which is an AMD card

no need for nvidia "nvda_drv=1" boot argument

@Feartech
I know.
The boot arg "nada_drv=1" for my another Nvidia GPU, not for AMD GPU.

By the way, after success installed Catalina, the next step for Monterey.
What should I do for these 2 options below:
1. Download Monterey OS in Catalina, then create Monterey USB boot and create OpenCore to install Monterey?
2. Direct update to Monterey from Catalina Mac Store?

Which one should I go for?
As you asked me to do it in Catalina, right?

All right everyone.
I have installed the Catalina, don't know why this time is able to install.
No idea, and don't know what I did to make it successfully.

After done the Catalina installation with the AMD GPU, then installed Catalina Multi-beast in SSD.
***Restart to boot the Catalina OS from SSD.***
Screen show Apple logo loading bar is on half way, then go black screen.
What is this problem this time?
AMD Radeon Display problem / Not able to boot / Able to boot but no display?

So, I have to use the USB to boot into Catalina every time.

Wish any experts could help me find out the problem - what I have done wrong or missed any kexts to boot Catalina from my SSD. Either I did wrong in MultiBeast?

After MultiBeast installed:
- Sound Works.
- USB Port Works.
- Wifi is not detect and working yet. (*still finding the kext solutions. Anyone knows?)

Looking for help, Please. Anyone?

I checked the Utility Disk; I saw the SSD with Container disk 3, Catalinas, and Catalinas - Data.
Is the Catalinas Data is correct? First time to see Catalinas - Data !
I have attached my Catalina EFI folder.

The Mobo Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI and the AMD Radeon RX580 GPU are well running in High Sierra.
That's all I can share and tell.

I gave up on clover a few years ago and have moved on to OpenCore instead

Boot in verbose mode and post a picture of the screen when it stops.

zip and attach your /EFI folder.
@P1LGRIM

But case has changed.
Now Catalina Is installed, But when boot from SSD. It turned to black screen, nothing at all.
Please help.

The RX 580 has native support so no configuration is necessary.
How is it connected to the monitor ?

Yes. The Radeon GPU is fully support.
Just have no idea why during boot to Catalina from SSD, it suddenly become black screen.
No signal, No icon, No text, and Nothing I can see.
I have tried to capture the last stop @ -v, but it's running too fast turn to black screen.

FYI:
Using HDMI to connect to monitor.

Await for your help.

If you have more than one HDMI port then try another.

Await for your help.
I have no idea why it's not working for you unless you have one of those dodgy Chinese cards that use a different device ID.

No idea for this kind of issue?
I did, and changing others HDMI ports won't boot into Catalina from SSD.
Need to use USB to access Catalina OS.

The GPU card is fully native support. I am using it for High Sierra now.
Just don't know what I did wrong or missed.

That's why need experts to help me.

If that's the only problem then all that you need to do is delete the /EFI folder on the EFI partition of the SSD, then copy the /EFI folder form the EFI partition of the USB to the EFI partition of the SSD.
