pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Ok done.

Kernel Panic dropped the top line but the problem persists.

What system definition are you using? Make sure to match it with the appropriate SecureBootModel.

Or, you can try doing the install with the Clover EFI and replace it with the OpenCore EFI after installation.

I'm using iMacPro1,1. It was iMac18,3 on my clover High Sierra plist but that SecureBootModel was not listed as being supported on dortania's guide. So I went with the closest thing and that's iMacPro1,1 (December 2017) which was already set on your OpenCore EFI. Maybe I need to generate a new SSN and SystemUUID?

Will try Clover EFI if all else fails. Thanks for your help!

Yes, in my EFIs, the SecureBootModel is configured to match iMacPro1,1.

Yes, when switching system definitions, I always generate new Serial, Board Serial, and UUID.

Still having issues but diving deeper into the OpenCore guide. Did you have any hesitations selecting iMacPro1,1 for your SMBIOS? It says its CPU family is Skylake-W. From this list it looks like iMac19,1 & 2 are the only ones in the Coffee Lake family. Guessing this was because you had the Vega?

That doesn't matter. I've been using iMacPro1,1 for a long time with no issues.

You can use iMac19,x if you like. If you do, you should enable iGPU even with dGPU installed and don't expect DRM to work right.

Unfortunately I haven't successfully installed OpenCore yet. Listing out my install process.

1. Follow dortania's guide and create USB with 12.3.1

2. Download your OpenCore 0.7.9 EFI and use GenBIOS to get fresh iMacPro1,1 serials

3. Input serial, board serial, UUID, and ROM into config.plist and save.

4. Double check that my config.plist has updated serials

5. Unmount EFI and shutdown

6. Make sure to have removed GPU and other boot drives from mobo

7. Power up and change BIOS setting in accordance to dortania's Intel BIOS settings tab. When I disable CSM and reset, my monitor illuminates but remains black, no image at all. I had disconnect all power and pop the battery out of the mobo just to get it to restore settings and show an image. I also didn't disable CFG Lock which I don't see an option for in the Z370 BIOS menu. I saw it was turned off in your config.plist so I didn't change it. Basically I tried to do what dortania says for Coffee Lake BIOS settings but I don't feel confident about it. Did you follow their Disable/Enable list?

- After BIOS settings I boot to USB, I get the OpenCore picker and select Install macOS Monterey.

- The verbose goes for a bit but stops after multiple lines of this and fails..

Dortania's say if you get this to turn off XHCIPortLimit but it's already False on the EFI, so I don't know what causing this USB port issue.

Anyways, sorry for the lengthy post. Any idea's as to how to get through this would be very much appreciated. Installing OpenCore is proving to be a big learning lesson but after coming this far I'm set on getting it working. Thanks again.

No I didn't follow Dortania guide for this build. This build was done before a Dortania guide existed...

Your boot errors are all USB port errors. Are you using an Asus Z370-G Gaming mATX motherboard? If not you will have to create an USBPorts.kext for your specific motherboard. Also, try plugging your USB installer in a different USB port. The USB 3.1 gen 2 ports should work.

Yes, using the Z370-G Gaming mATX. Never had any issues with High Sierra so it has to be a conflict between the BIOS and OpenCore config.plist. Need to recharge troubleshooting energy, I’m probably making things worse at this point. Thanks

Check USB. The photo you posted shows all USB errors.

Did a full reset. Got into the Monterey installer, things were going good but it hit another wall and the install won’t finish. Here’s my info log. Could it be the SN750 isn’t cooperating with the installer? Really have no idea at this point.
