Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Hi,

I’ve followed the guide in Post 1 using both Option 1 and Option 2 but i'm having issues with both methods with installing Big Sur.

Option 1: Choose N-D-K version of OpenCore 0.5.8

When I try this option It comes up with a screen with nothing on it (see attached screenshot)

Option 2: Choose standard version of OpenCore 0.7.4
When I try and install from the USB, 2 Errors flash up on the Gigabyte logo screen:
OCS: No schema for ResizeAppleGpuBars at 16 index, context <Quirks> !
OCS: No schema for ResizeGpuBars at 10 index, context <Quirks> !

After that it goes to a black screen with nothing. I've tried setting the ResizeAppleGpuBars from -1 to 0 in OpenCore Configurator but it had no effect.

I've double-checked everything along with matching the BIOS settings to those in the guide. Where am I going wrong?

Thanks

Yes, I was able to get my Gigabyte Radeon RX 6600 XT Eagle 8GB working on 12.1 beta. Using CaseySJ's oc 0.7.5 for z490 vision G (changed for smbios iMacPro1,1). I have to use "agdpmod=pikera" boot-arg. The boot hangs at times, but I think that has to do with third party kexts installed on my system. I can take a picture of where it hangs if that’s helpful, just let me know.
@haurb900, do you upgrade to 12.1 beta 2? i have upgraded to 12.1 beta 2 and found rx 6600 can not work.

This indicated that wrong version of OpenCore Configurator (OCC) was used. Each version of OCC supports two specific versions of OpenCore. The latest OCC only supports OpenCore 0.7.5 and 0.7.6. So try downloading and using OpenCore 0.7.5 EFI folder from the 0.7.5 mini-guide. A link to that guide is provided at the top of Post 1.

Hi @CaseySJ, thanks for looking.

So once I download OpenCore 0.7.5 EFI folder from the 0.7.5 mini-guide, do I then go back to Step 4 of the main giude and re-input the Serials and UUID again?

Thanks

Yes we can just open the old and new confit.plist files at the same time using OCC (but set OCC to 0.7.5 Release Version) then copy and paste those values (PlatformInfo —> DataHub tab).

So I downloaded the OC-075-VISION-D.zip opened the intel config.plist in OCC.

I generated a new Serial, new UUID, made sure to select iMac 19,1 and also generated the ROM. I then saved config and then copied EFI folder to EFI partition and double checked it was on there.

When i boot up, I select Install Big Sur and then see the Apple logo and loader for a minute or so before the screen just goes black.

Any ideas? EFI attached.

you probably do not need to "fake" the CPU as Comet Lake is supported

XhciPortLimit should be disabled

boot verbose (add -v to boot arguments) to see what the issue is

Should i remove something here?

I did this but no change :(

Verbose display on the screen but not as a txt file, i've added a couple of screenshots
a usb issue, look into your config and try enable/disable usb related

Anything in particular you can think of? Or what section of the config?
I'm new to this and have no idea what to turn off and on.

Thanks
