Z490 & Z590 - Will Z590 ever have macOS Support ?

I think about enabling port C & port D that appear on Thunderbolt tree but not included on ThunderboltDROM !

On Apple M1 Ioreg, USBDownAdapter (new thunderbolt 4 features) is on port 4 ... Then If I see Apple M1 Thunderbolt DROM, this port 4 is also enabled :

Here are the 2 previous ThunderboltDROM patched properties for each board (Port 7 enabled & CRC32 corrected & portC/D enabled) :

@InsomnIaHackintosh,

I've added ThunderboltDROM to the attached rev3 SSDT. Please try the following:
  • Download and copy file to EFI/OC/ACPI folder
  • Disable the rev2 SSDT from OpenCore Configurator --> ACPI section
  • Create an entry for the rev3 SSDT
  • Reboot
  • See if your Thunderbolt devices connect and work
  • Also post IOReg file

@NorthAmTransAm @djlild7hina

If you have some time, could you take a pictures or your Asus Thunderbolt EX4, I just want to identify number of EEPROM (memory including firmwares) & Power Delivery component (TPSxxxx or CDxxx) ?

Thanks !

@Elias64Fr hope this helps.

The firmware chip (EEPROM, correct?) is MX25L8006EM2I-12G.

Im not seeing the Power Delivery component but here's a whole photo of the card

Thanks !

OK, it seem that we have only one programmable chip.

Could you zoom on the second big chip with blue dot ?

And other square components ? I search PD chip product name with TPSxxx or CDxxx
Oof that’s hard to capture. Let’s see if we can make this out.

Blue Dot Chip (best guess)
CYPD5225-9
687X1
XHA 2037
B08
CYP 632564

Nice !

Our Power Delivery (USB-PD 3.0 support) component seem to be CYPD5225-96BZXI from Cypress (Infineon Technologies owner) ...

@CaseySJ Thanks a lot for the updated rev3! I have tested it and didn't make a change, unfortunately.

No Tb from cold boot & no hot-swap. The Tb devices still appear under TB/USB4 and PCI tree.

I've attached the boot log, IO Reg, some pictures.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

Thanks for testing.

Let’s go back to the first Thunderbolt SSDT that I sent (which does not have rev2 or rev3 in its name).

We should reestablish our previous baseline in which devices connected and worked when connected before boot. This means we should also disable the ACPI patch.

Sorry forgot to mention. I have already disabled the ACPI patch as a test with this rev3 on and TB device cold boots, no hot swap and there is nothing listed under TB/usb4 and PCI tree listing.

Do you need me to share an IO ref dor this?
