Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

@CaseySJ, I finally got my Z490 Vision D board and installed it. Like I said that I will be using the i7-11700K CPU, and I used your latest 0.7.1 EFI from this thread. It boots Big Sur but my Bluetooth does not work. I tried different versions of Iuetoothinjector.kext as well as BlueToolFixup, and I cannot turn Bluetooth on. Also, how can I enable IGPU for Rocketlake so that I can use it as headless mode like I did on the Asus B560 board.

Nice work. Just so that you know, I had also been experimenting with IGPU in the past. While I couldn't find dGPU I needed to make iGPU to work at its maximum potential.

With your changes, HEVC will work, but still not at full potential. To test, download a very high bit video: Google - 400-mbps-4k-uhd-hevc-10bit and play it in IINA or VLC or both. It will stutter a lot. The frames will skip a lot. If you add "igfxfw=2 wegtree=1 igfxrpsc=1" boot args along with Casey's default config (igfxfw is most important, you can probably try omitting others after testing). igfxfw enables Apple Firmware for Intel GPU. Look for docs of WhateverGreen on GitHub for more information.

After this, the video decode will run as smooth as it should. Try playing it in VLC and IINA. It also makes it closer to real Mac. Also note that I'm using iMac20,2 on 10th Gen processor (10900K). You can also try the device-id I'm using in the post number mentioned below, it is more closer to the real iMac20,1 or iMac20,2.

To make sure Apple Firmware is loaded you can look into logs.
It needs to say "accelDidLoadGuC" and "Graphics accelerator is using scheduler: Apple Firmware", this will change from "Host Preemptive" mode:

See post #4,492 in this thread for more information and full logs.

Cheers.
I download the jellyfish-400-mbps-4k-uhd-hevc-10bit.mkv and test it by movist pro player.
it plays very smoothly without any modification you mentioned.

Hello @suren6791,

The Rocket Lake iGPU is not compatible with MacOS.

What is the make/model of your WiFi/Bluetooth module?

Does Bluetooth show up in System Information —> USB?

Is the Bluetooth USB cable connected to the internal USB 2 header on motherboard?

The Rocket Lake iGPU is not compatible with MacOS. - I got this working in headless mode

What is the make/model of your WiFi/Bluetooth module? Wifi Works just no bluetooth, not sure what type it is but under the m.2 slot I saw a small card there with 2 black cables I assume its for wifi said cenci I think but not Fenvi

Does Bluetooth show up in System Information —> USB? No - see attached picture of what shows in USB

Is the Bluetooth USB cable connected to the internal USB 2 header on motherboard? How do I check this?

Also how do I get the sound to work out of the digital out as I am still getting the cutting off/on of the sound from the RX580. It works properly in windows and no issues when I put this RX580 in my Asus Z370-P Big Sur only with the Rocket Lake CPU I am having this issue.

If you’re using the WiFi/BT module that comes preinstalled on the motherboard then it’s the Intel AX201 that is not natively supported in macOS. But there is an “OpenIntelWireless” EFI for the Z490 Vision D.

Have you read through Post 1? And looked at Notes at the top of the post, particularly 6a and 6b?

The purpose of a build guide is to provide as much information as possible for people to help themselves.

Please go through the guide and search this thread. Also become familiar with the details of configuring OpenCore. The Tech Talk section is there for this purpose.

Please provide more background information.
  • Was OpenCore 0.6.9 running smoothly, but 0.7.1 does not allow your system to boot?
  • Which operating system are you running?
  • Have you pressed CMD-V at OpenCore Picker to enable verbose mode, then booted macOS? You will see detailed logs.
  • Which version of BIOS is installed in your motherboard?

So I had tried your Bluetooth files and the method above. Unfortunately it didn't work and that included disabling itlwm. For some reason or other it is still coming up with the AppleKeyStore 11149 error, and always just before the Apple logo appears when the system is almost ready to bring up the login prompt. The only thing I believe it is related to seems to be itlwm, because I noticed earlier whenever the itlwm texts appear, the AppleKeyStore notification comes right after it.
You said that disabling Itlwm did not solve the problem, but you still believe it is related to Itlwm?

BrcmBluetoothInjector.kext is not compatible with Monterey so we must use BlueToolFixup.kext instead.

Another thing you can try is to disable the on-board Bluetooth USB port, which will in effect disable Intel Bluetooth. This can be done as follows:

Then see if the system boots up normally. If so, it confirms that Bluetooth is the problem. Then we can try to find the root cause.
