Hello and good evening to all! I am having a bit of an issue installing macOS Big Sur to this Lenovo Yoga 730-13ikb.

CPU: I5 - 8250u
MOBO : Lenovo 730-13ikb
GPU : HD 620
Storage: Samsung MZVLB256HAHQ-000L2 - 256GB PCIe SSD

BIOS changes
SATA Controller Mode [RST] --> [AHCI]
INTEL SGX [Enabled] --> [Disabled]
Secure Boot [Enabled] --> [Disabled]

Thunderbolt Device Boot support [Disabled] (I am not sure if this is relevant nor did I change it)

Issue/Problem
I got the opencore to boot up and everything, I manage to boot into the macOS installer however, during installation, it freezes.
There are a few cases I tried

Case 1: NVMEFIX kext attempt
I thought perhaps why the installation froze was due to the ssd, I tried using this kext to see if it would fix. This actually created more issues. When this kext was installed (in the config.plist and the kext folder), even just reformatting the SSD would have the installer freeze while its reformatting it.

Case 2: W/out NVMEFIX
In this case, I am able to reformated the SSD without any issues, however, once i begin to install the OS, it runs for about 7-8 minutes before ultimately freezing.

Case 3: AppleXcpmCfgLock enabled
In the motherboard settings, I could not find a way to disable this so I figured maybe this is why the installation was failing. I tried this with and without the NVMEFIX kext as well and ultimately it did not make a difference.

Side note: Funnily enough, I attempted this hackintosh earlier last week with clover and macOS catalina. I manage to get to the installation part as well but the same issue occurred, the installation would freeze while it was installing to the SSD.

What works?
As far as I am concerned and from what I've manage to asses in the installer, the following works

- Touchpad
- Keyboard
- TouchScreen
- USB C port
- USB port
- Wifi (Swapped the card for a native macOS m.2 card)
- Battery information
- Function keys (UNKNOWN)
-
USB C hotplug (UNKNOWN I hope it does tho)

As far as I am concerned, virtually everything works except for the fingerprint (duh!). I am just struggling to get past this last step.... I would appreciate some advice and help!

I've included the opencore run log, my last config.plist I tested out (Case 3 without the NVMEFIX kext) and the photo of my efi folder.

Thank you so much for the help ahead of time.

Samsung PM981 do cause those issues, best to swap that out with a more compatible one

maybe something from the buyer's guide:
I bought a 1TB sandisk NVME SSD from my nearest Best Buy. I am proud to announce the build has booted and is working.

Some issues I still need to fix:

1 - The computer seems to be running a bit hotter than usual
2 - The audio was not setup properly
3 - iMessage and FaceTime still need to be worked on

I am certain I can fix issues 2 & 3, any idea on how to fix issue 1?

I plan on making a guide later this week for anyone else wanting to hackintosh this computer :)

have a look into CPUFriend.kext

Awesome! That kext made the laptop cool down very quickly after initial start!. I managed to fix the audio too. Up next is the FaceTime and iMessage feature.

Last few questions!
1. Is there a tablet mode? this is a 2 in 1 and the touch screen works but is there a way to make the display rotate when the keyboard is flipped the other way?
2. Is there a way to fix the top key binds? The only key that works properly are the volume up/down and mute. The brightness up/down do not work right now.
3. When the laptop goes to sleep. The fans turn off and on.

Edit: FaceTime and IMessage are now working too.

this may help for your keybinds:

not used it myself though but heard good things about it

this is important to do:

that can help solve sleep issues

Hey sorry for the long delay and wait.

I set up my USB port configuration using Hackintool. That seemed to have fixed the sleep issue and the computer now does not run out of battery while in sleep.

The YogaSMC did not work as the instruction were a bit unclear, I will try again later and see if I can get it working.

Now there are only 2 (3 if we count the key bind) issue left.

- The USB C thunderbolt does not seem to be working, I have an adapter that works natively with a MacBook Pro that allows for ethernet and HDMI connections to be formed. The adapter only seems to work for the USB ports but the ethernet and the HDMI do not work. Is there any fix for that?

- The other issue would be the key binds, as I stated, the YogaSMC was kind of vague so I will give it another shot, I did get the key light for the keyboard to be able to switch off with that kext but I was not able to rebind the key binds.

- While the laptop goes to sleep, it cannot be woken up using the touchpad, and it requires either a few keyboard taps or power button clicks (either or) for it to wake, is there any way to make it for instant?

I am almost at 99% compatibility (100% not counting the fingerprint), with this I can make the perfect guide for a laptop like this.

I've attach some screenshots of my current kexts and my config.plist and USB config
