[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

If you got one at MSRP, I’d absolutely offload it and cash in.
no, those few bucks of win are not good for my carma, and previously a guy prophesied, they go to 6000$ so hodl at all concerns (jerking).
i really hope, we start a new forum thread, when there is some more development in rdna2 osx drivers and things get more serious. this one got pretty messy to find good info, and i contributed to that. sorry. have a good weekend comrades :)

Agreed, this thread is getting hard to follow. My 6800xt is coming tomorrow so I am hoping for good news soon on driver updates. However, if all else fails I have a GTX 780 that is metal-supported so I can always use that.

There has been never good info for RX 6000 series drivers.

Yeah, I'm not sure why anyone thinks we are getting RX 6000 drivers other than just sort of "hoping we are" based upon the past.

If I had to bet, I'd say it's more than 50% likely, but I won't be surprised if the driver support is more limited and maybe even specifically targeted to closely match only what Apple releases in a native product.

When you look at the poor 5700 XT driver performance, it doesn't give anyone much confidence they will release good 6000 series drivers for cards like the RX 6800XT, if they release any at all. There's really no incentive for them to write these for MP owners or hackintoshers. It's got to be at the bottom of their "to do" list. They definitely want 2019 MP owners to pay for a $2400 Vega II upgrade instead of using an AMD 6800XT.

After a time of using MBA M1 16gb I dont really wait for 6800xt drivers, just bought thunderbolt-displayport cable so I can work on 35 inches 21:9 monitor, and it performs really good on 3440x1440 144hz, only thing I dont get why they limit it to only one external monitor when there's no opportunities

Yeah, I wish they'd hurry up and release the new iMacs and/or whatever else might be coming in the M pipeline.

I really would love a Mac Mini Pro
