Long term effects of Liquid Metal...
I've had my i9-9900K for almost 1.5 years and I delidded it on day 1 even before installing it in my computer. Here are idle temps and temps in the middle of 3rd consecutive Cinebench r23 run. Notice that only one of the two fans mounted on my CPU cooler are running. CPU is overclocked to 5GHz all cores.
Btw, before you freak out, all temps are in Fahrenheit.
I also used Liquid Metal on my PowerColor Vega 56 Red Dragon (BIOS flashed to Sapphire Vega 64 Nitro+). Here are idle temps with the fans NOT spinning and temps on 3rd consecutive Unigine Valley run.
