Now I am having an issue where I am trying to boot into a freshly installed Big Sur and the computer straight up shuts down while in verbose!

Any ideas?

record the verbose code and upload. Hard to help otherwise!

Since you have the Prime Deluxe which is almost identical to my mobo. If you refer to @djlild7hina github, and download this base EFI
and also adapt Recommended Bios Settings

you should be able to boot your system at first try.

Updating to 11.3 public beta 2 was fun... It should be straight forward for other boards but it was a headache figuring out what was causing it to constantly kp and reboot on the Sage II. Before 11.3, the Intel 2.5 ports were supported OOB and used the AppleIntel210Ethernet.kext in /S/L/E. In 11.3, Apple made some changes and it now tries to use a driverkit driver (couldn't grab a screenshot since it kept rebooting) so I added FakePCIID.kext and spoofed the device-id for it to use the AppleIntel210Ethernet.kext driver again.

Hey guys, given the fact that USB Audio issue is related to Radeon VII alone but @izo1 is able to use it with its audio card with no hassles on a Sage 10G board, do you think would be logic to swap my Prime X299-A for a Sage 10G (or Sage II maybe? I don't care about fast ethernet)? Or should I swithc to a RX 5000 card? What would you do in my pants?

Could be anyway a stupid move given the upcoming macs

Since the second hand value on a GPU is much higher, than a X299 Board, i would go for a new gpu. My 5700 (flashed to 5700XT) have served me well, so if you don't need a super high spec card, i would go for that.

Buy one with free returns so you could try it out and see if the problem gets fixed before keeping it :)

Or wait for RX 6000 series to get support.

At the moment it's really hard to find a reasonably priced GPU, harder to find it with a free return policy!
Since you have the same board I got, have you ever tried using an USB audio card of any kind?

Every day, both usb and thunderbolt audio card. Works fine!

where are you based? Check ebay?

That'll do very nicely - thanks.
I will have a look once I have the board likely next week sometime.
The Sage WS 10G X299 arrived from the USA.
One bent pin, probably why it was originally returned to Amazon and was sold through a used warehouse offer.
Bent the pin back, see pics and it booted straight away, so I got lucky.
Based the EFI on @izo1's so many thanks for saving me a lot of time and for advising on the Amazon offer in the first place.
All the stuff that didn't work on the EVGA X299 is solved, straight away I was able to update to 11.2.1.
Still to fix Ethernet 10G X550 - will get to that when I have some free time.

I'm in Italy, so I have access to the whole european market (no UK obviously for brexit) without import duties. In used market you need 4-500 € for 5500XT 6-700 € for 5600XT and near 1000€ for 5700(XT). That's crazy! Obviously I will be able to sell my VII for 900 / 1000 € so it can be a GO but a Sapphire or Reference card is hard to find with a refund policy. I can return any product bought payin via PayPal on ebay? I don't think so, I think it's only when the seller accepts returns, right?

I doubt you need return policy if buying RX 5000 series, since they make no noise with usb sound cards =)

btw, i recently removed SSDT-PLUG from my config, since it’s not mandatory on all mobos, and i’ve been running it a couple of days now, with som A/B tests, and have not noticed any difference.

one SSDT less =)

I will edit this post if i run into some issues :)
