A friend gave me this because they were switching from a MacBook to an iPad. Was surprised that it worked OOB with Big Sur. For the low price it's great to use for travel or just as a Magic Mouse back up. If anything happens to it no worries, buy another for 12 bucks. I also like that there are no AA or AAA batteries to replace and you can charge it from either a USB type A or C port.

It's 79 dollars for a Magic Mouse 2. 30-40 dollars of that price is for the Apple logo on it ? Have to wonder what it costs to manufacture these.

I have never come across any mouse that scrolls like the Magic Mouse or Magic Mouse 2.

I have also never come across any mouse that has has the gesture support OOB. Things like double tap to zoom or swipe to switch Spaces is awesome.

Personally, I would not want to use macOS with any mouse other than either the Magic Mouse or Magic Mouse 2.

The only gesture that I wish it supported is pinch-to-zoom like on the Magic Trackpad.

Magic Mouse is the only Apple product that I never recommended to my friends.

I'm still using the original Magic Mouse. I use rechargeable batteries and get about a month between charges. You really can't beat the virtual scroll "wheel" for macOS.

It is simply painful to hold. A friend who didn’t listen to me ended up putting it into their drawer.

I guess that depends on the individual. I use it for hour and hours everyday without any issues.

Yeah. I still have my Magic Mouse 1 too and I also use rechargeable (Sanyo Eneloops). But the battery on the Magic Mouse 2 lasts much longer.

If people want macOS-exclusive functions, I would recommend Magic Trackpad (1 & 2). For other usages, get one gaming mouse. I use Magic Trackpad 2 and it is absolutely much better than Magic Mouse 2.
