The everything works Asus Z390-I Gaming * i7-8700K * SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX Vega 64 Build

Hi everyone!
Can someone share the iGPU 'EFI' folder updated to the latest OC and installed BigSur after successfully? It would be nice if sharer has the 9th generation intel proc. I want to try it boot from USB.
Thanks in advance.
I can't test it but this should work with any Coffee Lake iGPU, which are what Intel 8th and 9th generation processors are. It's @trankilou version with a different Device ID for the display controller.

I have a Asus Z390-F, i7-8700K, a few NVMes, salvaged Apple BCRM20702, Radeon 580X, three monitor. I found a good OpenCOre 0.63 starting folder, modified the USBPorts.kext and now everything work well with Big Sur 11.1 beta1.

I'm positing the EFI in case someone has the same word.

One question I have is about the boot-arg.

I have this:
<key>boot-args</key>
<string>agdpmod=pikera shikigva=80 igfxfw=2 vsmcgen=1 -no_compat_check </string>

and I was wandering if they are all needed and what exactly they do. I understand they are mostly connected with Whatevergreen but the documentation is very sparse.

Thanks
Michele

Many Boot arguments for WEG are listed here. You probably do not need any of the ones you listed.

Ok Opencore experts, I need some help here. converted to OC when I couldn't get clover to be stable in Big Sur. Basically used ModMike's EFI folder with no changes other than serial and everything boots fine now. Updated the OC files to 0.6.3, but I have two issues.

1) My audio ports are not showing up in MacOS. I have AppleALC.kext in the kext folder and defined in in the config, but no audio outputs are available. Is there something obvious that should make them work with this build that I'm missing?

2) If I try to update any kexts using the methods that are listed in the open core guide (using the lilu+freinds terminal command), I can't boot. I get to the apple logo and progress bar, then my monitor starts to blink on and off, like it is changing resolution over and over, but never shows the desktop.

Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like Mod Mike hasn't signed in since July 1. Maybe someone else needs to update the guide for OC and Big Sur.

I wouldn't use an EFI/Config.plist meant for Catalina 10.15.4 with Big Sur. Try creating a completely new EFI by following the dortania github guide for your 9th gen 9700.

That may be, but this has already being more of a pain that it really needs to be, and I have really no interest in redoing a system again when it boots completely fine short of one feature.

booting verbose may give you an indication of the issue

If you are keeping the kexts in the kexts folder on the EFI partition just replace the older kexts with the newer version in the kexts folder. Then rebuild caches and clear NVRAM before trying to boot.
