The everything works Asus Z390-I Gaming * i7-8700K * SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX Vega 64 Build

If you update the BIOS, MAKE SURE you clear the CMOS right AFTER by shorting the CMOS reset pins near the front left of your motherboard. Check your manual to make sure you don't make a mistake. I just spent 2 days trying to figure out why my machine was rebooting on wake from sleep. Problem disappeared after I cleared the CMOS and reconfigured BIOS.

Would the latest 9th Gen Intel CPU and AMD RTX 57OO XT GPU work on MacOS Majave? Are they supported for a hackintosh build?

They are. I would read up on The 5700XT, some require boot arguments and or other special configuration tweaks.

1. HDMI/displayport audio still suddenly mute after around 2 minutes of playback
2. FCPX still cannot open/crash.

update 2:
1. i reset the CMOS and reconfigure BIOS again just in case.
2. Try the USB installer at every usb port at z390-i strix mobo (including usb2)
3. still stuck at " an Error occured while preparing the installation. Try running this application again.

how to do now? im so confused with this build. anyone can help me?
thx before everyone

Sorry, I never got a notification email. Stupid question: are you using my Catalina EFIs? Also I will update them tomorrow morning for you.

yes, i also triple check the Catalina EFI .i download first page attachment and download from your step by step guide (there is hyper link there also)
i tried 4 times recreate USB installer and each time i download fresh Catalina installer just incase the installer broken/corrupted.
i unplug all usb except for usb installer mouse and keyboard.
i tried to change lan cable, hdmi cable, anything thats maybe causes problem in my mind.
i even tried to change monitor. lol
but still no luck.

so this is what i do yesterday, everything as your guide in the 1st page but for mojave (fresh install wipe all previous data obviously) :
1. installation wise everything went smoothly
2. my fcpx still crash.
3. with my limited knowlage i tried to make it works somehow.
4. i found this post :
View attachment 457357
i only follow the step from 3-8.
5. now fcpx can launch, and quick view (spacebar at jpeg etc) works.
6. my HDMI sound still didn't work (suddenly mute or glitchy after couples of minutes)
7. icloud , handoff wifi bluetooth works flawlessly

now im back at this point (again):
1. if this mojave build from your excellent guide didn't shutter and glitchy then restart it self i will keep it even with no hdmi/dp audio.

2. but if this mojave build starting to shutter and glitchy then restart it self again. i will tried Catalina guide of yours (again)

thx for the help.
hope my experience help/useful to someone.

None of this makes any sense, you have my identical hardware (until I upgraded)!

You should not be having ANY problems. What version of ASUS BIOS are you using?

couldn't agree more, this is my most confusing hackintosh ever.
my ASUS bios ver 2603. with every single thing set as your guide in 1st page. (i even too scared to update kext via cloverconfig)
what bios ver are you running?

p.s the only meaningful (ram, psu, cpu cooler etc doesn't count does it?) hardware difference is the gpu, im running sapphire radeon VII

oh 1 more, will this fix my problem?

I am also on 2603. I upgraded to a Vega 64 and 32 GB ram but none of that makes a difference, you should be good. I attached my latest and fully updated EFI for you to try.

I recommend you get Catalina up and running because 10.15.4 is the last update. The next release will be an ew version and if you stick to Mojave you will end up being 2 versions behind. I will look into he sound issue, there is something I have been meaning to try for a while but will only have time tonight or this weekend.

Keep me posted.

What CAD are you using? Fusion 360? Autodesk products only support Open GL which was killed by Apple. Where is Fusion 360 OSX support now? Apple discontinued OpenGL which crippled OSX support yet I see Autodesk recommending Catalina as minimum operating system.

Your last BIOS screenshot is wrong although I am not sure how much trouble it will really cause. Disable Legacy USB support.

Yes, Fusion 360 / Open FreeCad and some other, everything killed my mac mini with UHD630, I mean it was painful to just zoom ...

Legacy support, should not a problem, if not recognized it will disabled ... i keep an eye on it but will need it for a project on my windows installation (midi)... not connected if mac os boots, no problems so far

This I had also, is was the result after a restart on installing, until I disabled my WiFi/Bluetooth card for installation, maybe not the issue but a broken installation will show this.

BIOS setting, I am not the fan of automated OC. I think after Update the BIOS setting like was "Let Bios A.I decide".
Maybe an option will be "enforce all limits" or something like this to avoid auto OC.

I may have found a solution to a long standing audio issue. I was told to use layout 1 but it never worked properly for me so I used layout 7. I just discovered that Layout 21 was added and it looked like a much better fit so I tried it. So far it seems to work perfectly! In my case I no longer have the following issues:
  1. The front panel audio now sounds clear when using headphones. I used to have heavy static.
  2. Plugging/unplugging headphones now switches between speakers and headphones flawlessly
This may also fix other issues such as audio stopping after a short time. If this is the case then I think the issue was caused by improper audio switching between outputs.

Try 21 and let me know how that works for you.
